My wife and I just returned from Tulum 1/18/23. Its an amazing location on the planet to visit, the locals are very nice. There is so much new construction and development going on which will destroy the jungle vibe, along with driving the cost of everything up. Most of all the sewage is on septic with its run off entering the ground water and cenotes. We also found the cost way out of control in most locations, on par with South Beach Miami Fl.

When I was last in Tulum in 1991.....Tulum the town was just a small dusty rundown town....We rented a rustic cabana right on the beach for 3 dollars a night....I think the entrance fee to the cenote was 1 dollar and I forget how much it was to see the Mayan ruins but it was not much....

Wow that sounds amazing 😍 No doubt the place has changed and it looks like it will continue to grow and get more expensive!

Thank you! We stayed at a hotel that was OK priced (53 Euros per night) but only because we found a last minute offer! Otherwise Tulum accommodation can be quite expensive…

We just kept an eye on our things while we were in the water but we were surrounded by other tourists so we felt our stuff was mostly safe 😊

How is it that there are sea turtle in a cenote? These locals are trying too hard to bring tourists,

Carlos, ya its like us locals need to post signs to keep Selfish Sticks off the beach lol. The IG's are so wrapped up in their " exposure " world they've lost track of reality, in that they can't sit down and chill its really amazing as you noticed they Stand Out !
