In my experience in West Africa, the aggressive haggling can feel wild to us who are not used to it, but there is no real bad blood or actual anger. These guys don't earn a lot of money and it can make a huge difference for them financially if you pay 20, 25 or 30 bucks. So they are persistent, knowing that customer retention is not something they have to worry about. Even the 40 bucks guy would've caved if the other guy hadn't snatched the fare at 20€.

There is no expectation that anyone at all times speaks one of these languages, so using either is fine. On a flight from Berlin to Buenos Aires it would be perfectly okay for Announcements to be in German and Spanish only. - If You don't understand an announcement, ask the cabin crew, they will likely speak some english to translate for you because so much aviation stuff is in english anyway.

English. The language used for safety announcements depends on the operator and the passengers on board. Here are some guidelines for safety announcements on planes: ICAO Doc 10086 Recommends that safety briefings be in English and the operator's language. It also suggests considering the official languages of the departure and destination countries, as well as other languages that may be appropriate for the passengers. Cabin crew Operators may assign language-qualified cabin crew members or interpreters to specific routes. They should also verify that passengers in emergency exit rows understand the crew's language. Pre-recorded announcements Some aircraft have pre-recorded announcements in multiple languages. Safety videos Airline safety videos are usually subtitled in English, as well as the primary language of the airline's country or the city of departure or arrival. Communication The European Union (EU) requires that crew members can communicate with each other in a common language. However, there is no EU requirement for a specific language to be used when communicating with passengers

While I’m pleased to see the progress Tunisair has made, reflecting their dedication to improving the passenger experience and representing Tunisia in a positive light, I can’t say the same for Mauritania Airlines. My last experience with them was far from satisfactory, it was truly disappointing. I’ve been on many Tunisair flights, and I can say that for the safety announcement, it depends on the destination of the plane. When going to a country that doesn’t speak Arabic and French, then they add English. But since you are going to senegal and Guinea, which are primarily French speaking countries, the announcement stays in French and Arabic.

Such a great Lounge manager really loves he's job:) I visited Africa for the first time 2 months ago. Lufthansa to Joburg, then Joburg to Walvis Bay, Namibia with Airlink. BTW Airlink was very good and Namibia, what beautiful a country. I will be back for a holiday :)

*Josh, is that Black Mold @**21:50** on the ceiling in the corner? That would explain the bad smell, especially if it spread throughout the walls and AC units.*

Amazing improvement to the lounge and such friendly owner/mum. Longer haul plane seemed a big improvement too. There's nothing like prolonged taxi-fare bargaining. It's good to see an airline improve no doubt in part due to this channel.

Forever grateful we have Josh to give us real, unbiased reviews unlike other creators who accept kick-backs and freebies from airlines. It's also a testament to his character that he will give airlines a 2nd and 3rd chance to see if they've improved.

Your experience flying TUNISAIR to what's known as the world's most unfriendly country is truly intriguing! The contrasts and unique encounters you've shared make this journey stand out. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into such a fascinating adventure! ✈🌍

I just came across your channel this night, and I have taken my time to watch a couple of your videos. I must say you are a very genuine and brave person. I think businesses must be willing to welcome the harsh reviews or comments made by their customers, because that's the only way they can improve, especially we Africans. I have really fallen in love with that lounge manager. I will definitely visit Tunisia one day because of him. You earned yourself a new subscriber, Mr Josh. I would love to see you review your visit to my beloved country Ghana 🇬🇭. We are the most friendly and welcoming country in Africa. Much love ❤

As a Tunisian living in France and working between the two countries i stopped using tunisair after i had many troubles with flights getting canceled, delays and also the prices being unreasenably expensive, i m glad i see they emproved their offer maybe i will try them again

It is amazing to see the company finally improving ! You are one of the reasons the change occurred, thanks! (about the safe announcement: They stated that it depends on what flight you're on, for example if you fly from Tunisia to Germany the announcement is going to be in Arabic and German, etc...) I think they should always give the safety instructions in English too, I hope that changes soon...

I don't see a problem with a flight from Tunis to Conakry not having a safety announcement in English. French isn't exactly an obscure language and it is flying between two nations that primarily speak it! (yes, I know Tunisia also speaks Arabic!)

You're absolutely right about the French knowledge. It opens up a whole different world. I travelled around some of the French-speaking Africa and I never had a problem. But when I was with a friend who only knew English, they were sometimes even mocking him 😅 "I speak French, Spanish, Arabic (or some other local language) and he only speaks English? What's wrong with him?" 😂

I speak Canadian French and the crossover with Cameroonian French is ... interesting at times. But everyone was good natured and joking about it when certain phrases would just miss.

Um, we had the same treatment when we first visited Quebec in Canada. We were laughed at by Postes Canada. All changed, when I lived in Montreal. All of sudden, the French Canadians in the shops helped me. This summer, I took the train from Montreal to Halifax and one train steward did not take any orders in English. He made me speak French the entire 23 h on the train when I went to the cafe car.

I spent nearly 10 years working fly in fly out on mining exploration projects in various African countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, none of the airlines or flights I've seen on this channel come anywhere near as crazy as some airlines/aircraft/flights I've flown on in the DRC, it was total madness I have so many crazy stories about travelling there, in hindsight I'm probably lucky nothing bad ever happened but at the time I wasn't scared it was a crazy adventure period of my life.

Hi Josh, If you're back in Europe, could you take a look at FSC airline AIS Airlines? They operate a Jetstream 31/32 on the routes from Esbjerg to Stavanger and Karup to Copenhagen. Perhaps you could plan a trip across Europe using only smaller regional carriers like AIS Airlines, Avanti Air, Aoroexpress Regional, Blue Express, etc.

Well that was a huge improvement in some areas, the Lounge Manager and his Mum have done absolutely amazing job they should be very proud and many airlines could learn so much from them...credit were credit is due...airport staff inc taxis the world over can make or break an airport, they failed miserable ...and the hotel is disgraceful, I could only imagine the cleanliness going by the water damage and mould on the ceiling is any indicator...a room review is much needed ...stay safe

That reminded me of when my flight got diverted to Bourgas airport in Bulgaria and I was wanting a taxi to a hotel in Bourgas. I went to the front of the rank and asked the driver how much it would cost and he quoted a rip off price, as expected. I went back in the terminal and waited half an hour before going back to the taxis. It was the same driver still there so I offered him half what he quoted and he agreed!

( I'M Tunisian ) that's a company owned by the government , and due to corruption , there are some people trying to break and kneel the company so the government may make it private ( fo sell ) and then they succeed owning it There are some sad realities in Tunisia, but with the current president and maybe the awareness of people, I hope there will be improvements .

For your information The safety announcement depends on the destination Since you are traveling to Guinea it is done in French. If you travel from Tunis to London, it will be done in English They even do all in German for the flights from Tunisia to Germany. So nothing wrong in there!
