I have the same gold pin you have on your green coat. I have worn it for years on various occasions. So fun to see you have one, too! ❤. Thank you for the detailed and clear tutorial on understitching. I’ll definitely be using this step in future sewing projects!

Oh now neat that you have the same vintage pin! I often wear it on one coat or another. ☺️ And you're very welcome!

Great demo. I've used understitching for years and it is just second nature now. Since I have become a quilter, it is useful when binding quilts with zig-zag edges by clipping inner corners and prick stitching to make nicer turns. Thanks for refreshing our sewing skills.

Definitely sounds like a good use for it! For sure doesn't need to be limited to garments alone, it's just what I sew most. ☺️

Thank you! It may be optional…but once I did it I never looked back!

Thank you for this video! I have just started sewing again after years, and appreciate a video that gives me techniques for a well made garment. I have to let you know that the duck billed scissors I saw in a previous video. After CUTTING my shirt trying to grade a seam, I IMMEDIATELY bought myself a pair!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! 👏✨🧵♥

You’re so welcome! And I’m so sorry about your shirt! I’m still so careful with duckbill scissors because they help a TON but I don’t want to get cocky and complacent on accident. 🤣

😂Thank you for this video! The first time I understitched a neckline on a particular dress pattern, the shape was difficult to work with. I'm making it again right now and will try doing it by hand or understitching earlier in construction.

You're welcome! Yes, the control you can get by hand can really come in handy! (No pun intended 🤣)

I completely agree about understitching! It takes facings etc to the next level. Totally worth the couple of extra minutes it takes, to get a great result 👍

Magnificent content as always! So helpful and well explained. And, can I ask, what nail polish is this??
@annahackman25392 ай бұрын
Thank you for explaining it in a way that I might actually understand. I'll have to try understitching again because I kept feeling like i was doing something wrong. I definitely like knowing about the prick stitch option because hand stitching is my favorite fall back when im struggling with machine sewing.

I didn't realize the edge stitch foot was a common thing unless one has a quilting machine... I don't think I've ever actually used mine. I just occasionally notice it and think "oh! That would be handy!"
@SparkyOne5492 ай бұрын
I’ve never had an edge foot, I use a zipper foot, great for edges.
@tashacouldmakethat2 ай бұрын
Yep that works too. I thought about showing it with a zipper foot as well but figured it was starting to be too many options to show. 🤣

Next to my walking foot my edge stitch foot is my favorite! Absolutely love it, I find it so helpful.
