I'm working a pattern that calls for wrap and turn short rows and it's been 10 years since I last tried it, so I needed a refresher. This was very helpful, thank you. :)

You probably wouldn’t want to do this with vintage patterns, but I use 8x 10 inch Manila envelopes, cut the pattern envelope into front and back side, paste the front side on the front of the Manila envelope, the back section on the back of the envelope, then all the pattern pieces will easily fit into the envelope along with traced pieces, a swatch of fabric if you like, photo of finished product, etc. You can then file them into a file drawer or cabinet in order of pattern type. Much easier than stuffing all that paper back into a small original envelope.

I purchased some vintage Boucher tweed from eBay recently. It was 1 1/2 yards and the vintage dress pattern required two. I did this! I made duplicates of everything and made a puzzle on the fabric! It worked. It took a bit of patience and planning! I had my heart set on this fabric for this dress and I could not be happier!

I love this kind of challenge: not enough fabric! For your drawstring, you could use a scrap fabric inside the casing so nobody knows. Very nice blouse!

Thank you, my armhole has never looked better! I want to use the same method to finish the hem of a button up shirt (I have my reasons!). There's outward facing corners that I cant seem to figure out how to sew and get all the excess folds hidden under the tape when folded over! And there doesn't seem to be any tutorials out there either! Most of them are doing "mitered corners" for quilting, but the bias tape is sandwiching the edges, so it is visible on both sides. I want the tape not seen on the outside. If it's something you'd be interested to try solving and sharing your methods, I'd be really grateful. Regardless, have a great day and thanks again for sharing your technique here.

I'm glad to that I'm not the only one who needs to think a while on how I want to sew up an outfit, let alone the next step to sew each piece. It really is a lot of time and work to get what's in in my head to get it done right. 😂 Thanks for all your videos! Still learning here.

Really well done tutorial! You completed demonstrating the technique in less time than the last tutorial I quit watching because she was still talking about what she was going to demonstrate and why and so on and so on...! I've done a lot of sewing in my time, but not for a long while. This was such a great reminder. Thanks for getting right to the point of your video! Oh! And I love gingham too.
