It's very much okay for new players to join these lobbies and give it a go, I can usually tell within 30secs if they are an experienced player or not regardless of the level

Opinion: it's better but still not good. Lasso is competing with 3 very strong oc in SMrT, executioner, and ECR. While it's a nice effect to slow incoming enemies, at 3-5 locks it's barely noticeable, and at 12 locks the slow still isn't as effective/ noticeable as just killing the enemy with SMrT or Exe. And if you want crowd control then ECR's aoe and fear is much quicker/ safer. The upside is you can slow down LST (including dreads) and still get the dmg/ammo of the vanilla gun. The downside is the attention economy is a lot and it's almost always better to just kill the enemies, which the other oc can, rather than slow them. The problem is lasso doesn't do the slowdown well enough to make it a better choice than those 3 overclocks, but at least its better than the base gun now. I will keep trying to use it to see whether there is a niche play style.

Try nukes. Lasso with VIR is more redundant than you might expect but lasso can wring extra value out of nukes by keeping enemies in the radiation field for longer. You can also use it to clump up enemies as they pass over a mine. I haven't used the Breach Cutter in years since that spell of back-to-back nerfs and buffs put me off it, but nowadays you should be able to combine Lasso with Spinning Death or any build that uses T5B. Take my 'advice' with a grain of salt, when Haz5 got boring for me I didn't mod the difficulty I just moved over to a different game.

I feel like it could give a damage bonus to lassoed enemies for your teammates, sentries or something. The buff seems like they want you to lasso the enemies for a long time, but outside of spinning death maybe, it's just kinda useless since either you wanna just shoot it. Also rip no secondary completed

i tried lasso on 5+ and got destroyed, since the laser has to take time to charge up as well. to me breach cutter works better

In my opinion, they should turn the lasso into an overclock that interacts with the turrets, so all the other mains have this ability, for example, you can aim at a turret and this laser becomes material and deals damage and slows bugs

Wait a minute, is SMrT triggers a good overclock? I’ve been trying to see if it was worth it and it always felt like a weaker version of executioner where you can’t control the bullet curves. It feels gimmicky. What do you feel are the strengths of smrt triggers?!

Iirc, while exec is generally stronger and more potent, StOS has a very very fast response time due to it's gimmick. Also, fun fact, it can still proc the elec upgrade on 2 bullets bc the devs programmed that in as an exception for this OC specifically.

smrt feels quite nice for just getting stuff off of you ASAP and it has some great dps, but i wouldnt put it above ecr/exe. maybe a tier behind them, but still rlly good

The others have mentioned but I am a fan of SMrT trigger. With 2 locks and the elec dot it will quickly kill mact/ ceiling stuff which the team is usually poor at. It's played similar to exe but doesn't have as good single target - but in our games it's usually the scout/ gunner that fill in those gaps

I must admit, friends. After reading these replies and trying it some more, I officially love SMRT triggers haha. Coupling it with Inferno on the Breach Cutter, it does so much to electrified and burning targets. Thank you for the recommendations, fun facts, and replies!

Have you tried going 23313? Its not strong but also not so bad. Its basically another version of ECR but with the penetration and base dmg (probably worse). Its just to try something different, i didnt try this build in modded difficulty or full hazard 5 plus. Hope is not just bad.

I'm going to have to try it. I settled on the normal build tree because I was trying lok as a single target, it would be interesting to use it as a crowd control slow like this though
