The thing people are not talking about is Ohio State has better coaching this time around with the talent Chip Kelly himself stated he's never coached an offense with this much talent and that's saying alot from an offensive guru also defensive coach Jim Knowles defense was top 2 or 3 getting better every year same guys coming back with added talent QB, O-Line, won't be an issue with Chip's scheme's remember guys he's a guru on the offensive side of the ball why coaches like Urban, Saban, Belichick, Pete Carroll just to name a few went to Chip Kelly to pick his brain about his offensive scheme's Ryan Day won't have to do much this time😉

They are a playoff team with me as the O.C. Kelly's emphasis and creativity of the running game and constrained principles will give the OSU offense the missing part of the offense. Our ground game has been subpar since Wilson left to take the HC job (Tulsa?)

Agreed. I think ppl are forgetting that RD was essentially wearing 3 hats since he took over….head coach, OC, and QB coach. You could tell the dude was absolutely flustered in big game moments and now that CK is the OC and QB coach, Day can finally breath and focus on head coach responsibilities in the off season and be a game manager on the field. I’m sure he is still keeping a pulse on the QB’s and dabbling in CK’s offensive duties which is a given. Overall, when the season rolls around, I think his team is going to look and operate like a well oiled machine.

Maybe it is the best talent OSU has had on paper! I measure OSU teams by what they do on the field & there record. To this point the best teams I have seen is 1: 2002 national title team 14-0 it was a fun Nailbiting exciting season to watch. So many type games in that season, nail biters, overtime victories last minute wins it was great. 2: 2014 national title team 14-1 The first to win the national title in the playoff air they were sweet, beating Bama in the semi finals. It was sweet and ultimately beating Oregon and the title game another good one. 3: 2019 Big10 title team 13-0 lost to Clemson in playoffs 13-1 overall, 4: 2012 team 12-0 that had nothing to play for, was on sanctions in which not one player was on the team, because the sanctions or coach, sad Braxton Miller & that team had a shot at the title. 5: 2006 Big10 title team 12-0 lost bad to Florida in the national title game to finish 12-1, but that season was absolutely fun to watch.

Marvin was the smartest pick in the draft He won’t stop until he’s in the HOF. i’m saying Jeremiah Smith is a freak and will be better. Will may not be the best QB in the Nation, maybe rate as a “B” but what surrounds him is otherworldly. He’s perfect for this team OSU has top 5 wr that are better, the Ol is better and the 1--2 punch at RB is the best ever. And now Caleb Downs will be joining the party! This will be the 1st year that OSU ends up with a top 3 Defense, and a top 3 Offense for the season.

The difference between Will Howard and Kyle McCord and why Ryan Day wanted McCord is because McCord was scared to make big boy throws at the risk of turning the ball over which infuriated Day, Howard has better tools and more importantly has the confidence to make the throws which can lead to more big plays. Yes he does occasionally turn the ball over but a lot of it is because he didn’t have any help at receiver. Don’t act surprised if Howard has a massive year.

Disagree. Emeka Egbuka is back and super productive and he’s going into his 4th year. Carnell Tate is going into year 2 and had a better freshman year than MHJ. And if you haven’t heard about Jeremiah Smith, you will. He may be the best player on the roster next to Caleb Downs. Offensive line added Seth McLaughlin to a line returning four guys and they will be using a completely different blocking scheme under chip Kelly. Give me Will Howard with the best 2 RBs in the country, with the best WRs in the country, a veteran oline, and a lights out defense in the end. What he will do with his feet alone is an upgrade for Ohio state let alone the upgrade in talent at OSU compared to KSU. Rivalry swing? You mean the fake renaissance from that team caught in a multi year advanced scouting/illegal electronic surveillance scandal? Please! How can you honestly credit a team that’s been caught cheating for over 3 years?

So our losses were easy to see coming. You supposedly have everything … top three recruiting classes every year, high NFL draft picks - media and fans say you’re like Alabama, Georgia, etc - but somehow that’s translated to one playoff win in nine years. That’s not what those teams did. To each his own, but if that were OU, I’d be pretty salty. And 31-16 the last time we saw you.☺️

Given that Ohio State is #1 all-time in preseason wins, winning %, margin of victory, conference championships, national championships, and every other metric, it’s far more realistic to frame things in terms of what happens on the field when they’re not playing Akron and Youngstown State. I disagree with Joe here. You clearly have an upgrade at quarterback. And trust me as an OSU fan I’ve said some negative things about McCord. But overall he did his best as a first year starter. I will always root for him and wish him luck. But you clearly upgrade. You are getting a qb with many more years of d1 experience. As well as a qb that ran for 10 tds. McCord ran for -68 yards all year. Like come on. Some of the spots that McCord was in last year, you would have seen Howard make a much better decision most of the time by getting out of the pocket and actually extend the play with his legs. Instead of automatically take the sack, or worse, try to make a throw that leads to an easy int. I just think the experience alone will help tremendously. Even if you’re not getting that much of an upgrade when it comes to the arm alone.

I definitely think that Will Howard is and upgrade over Kyle McCord. . . Ohio State won last year despite McCord. Give Will Howard, Marvin Harrison and tell me how that would look. They threw the same amount of TD's, McCord had 4 less int's and was 4% percent better on completion ratio, but factor in the rosters. And add in Howards 351 rushing yards and 9 TD runs verses McCords -62 yards and 0 TD's!!! Ohio State has not beat Meatchicken, since they had a willing runner at QB and that also impairs your running game!!! When Stroud finally became a willing runner against Ga. . . They basically outplayed Ga and were this close to winning it all. The winner of that game was winning it all period. Just like the winner of Bama and Ohio State was winning it all in 2014 against Oregon!!! And when you bring up Burrow. . . look at his 2018 stats!!! Pedestrian is what you will see. . .
