Broadly speaking ofc you can find unhealthy vegan diets just as easily as you can find unhealthy omni diets, and i think its pretty clear that most people on omniverous diets are unhealthy due to the huge amount of obesity and chonic illnesses we see. Simply put high calorie foods like meat and dairy etc along with highly processed oils and sugars are very easy to overeat. If you compare a junk food vegan to a junk food omni im sure both with share dietary problems from eating fatty/sugary highly processed foods. The question "is it possible to have a healthy vegan diet?" this should be a yes as its possible to get all macro and micro nutrients without needing animal products. Where things get harder to answer is how many vegans have "healthy" diets and then the more philosophical questions like is there anything we can do to help encourage these healthy diets or should the government get involved and try to help at all. We can already see some of these steps being taken like laws around adverts for children, sugar taxes, school lunch reforms and no fizzy drinks at school in an attempt to combat childhood obesity. Also many foods are already fortified which basically means they have added suppliments to them, both vegan and non-vegan. The historical part also seemed like a odd tangent, our ancestors did many weird and morally bad things - they had too in order to survive but thats not really a good argument for how to live our lives today. I dont think eating cured pork/meat for the whole of winter is exactly healthy or relevant when we have super markets today.
