I'm in Vung Tau right now for a month and I cannot emphasise more how good and heartwarming Vietnamese people are, it's like you have a certain image about the Country you get from tons of videos you watch and all expectations are shattered in a few days. Today I went on a motorbike for like 200 km, police stopped me and gave me a 1 milion ticket for not having international driving license. They left me only with 6000 dongs = 0,23,- euro in my pocket, I run out of gas, stopped on a gas station, showed a man the money and asked if he would splash me at least something for the price. Then suddenly a random Vietnamese came and paid for my full tank. Just smiled and said nothing....also agree with the author of the video, it's better to escape the fangs of a tourist jungle to fully enjoy what Vietnam has to offer

😁😁😁 you are one of some lucky people didnot steal, didnot meet thieves and robbers in SG, VN. they went around city on the whole road to steal. especially, some of them there were addictied guys. When I was in there(SG) to study, I was stolen in Le Thi Rieng Park and met thieves on a motorbike while I was coming back a hotel, near TSN airport. terrible.! Keep be careful. we need to have some life skills to save our property and our lives.

You are right, I have been in Saigon for 6 months and some of my friends was stolen their cellphones. However, it’s not happen in the north of Vietnam or countryside, believe in me!
@EatTravelSteve6 жыл бұрын
Great video! You are so correct. I have been to Vietnam twice both time in the north. People were very nice to me. I told people , when they ask me; I was from the US. I felt very welcomed. Also you are right about the traffic (see my videos on traffic)

There was a French chef who served the queen , he has left work and went to Vietnam to live and open a noodle shop. No matter where you go, i'm sure Viet Nam will be your stop. :) Good luck for your adventures .

If I go to Vietnam I'll probably buy a Moped just to get around, idk if it's illegal but maybe I'll just pay extra to keep the licence on it lol.

Any females out there who've travelled to Vietnam solo? Did you feel safe?

Do you think as a young female solo traveller it is safe enough to travel? And do you have any recommendations for how to connect with locals or expats to help ease the process/ show you around? :)
@gingernuts54442 жыл бұрын
Oh and do you have any recommendations as to the best places to visit (as you mentioned better to get away from tourist spots?)
@Edgesofearth2 жыл бұрын
- if you go to my website, which is listed in the description, I answer a lot of those questions. I have a lot of articles written. To avoid the tourist locations, find them on a map, and then simply walk 1 km away from them in any direction. Then you are in a better place lol. But this is true for almost every country.

- I'm not a female, however, I would not be scared if my female friends or family decided to be a Solo traveler in vietnam. I would definitely welcome it.
