Well, if cereal is a soup(which of cOURSE) then, by that logic, the milk would have to be the broth. If it was juice, that would be coming off the cereal grains, which would be it's own "grease", but cereal is not a meat, so it would be the noddles. Water is wet. The feeling of "wetness" is actually surface tension which is caused from the hydrogen bonds between the water molecules. These bonds act sort of like static electricity or magnetism which pulls the water together and towards other objects. This is the only liquid that does this that is found naturally. Nothing else can do this. So one water molecule is not wet, but any other number is.

Water is wet, because when it’s touching something it becomes wet. Water is always touching itself so it would be wet. It’s like ice, ice is cold. Saying it makes things cold but isn’t cold makes 0 sense. Like fire, fire makes things hot, therefore it is hot. Water takes out fire. Water would not be able to take out fire if it wasn’t wet. And slimes are slimy, and also make things slimy when touching something. So therefore, WATER IS WET.

Also, there is a cup of water B with volume V2. After adding B into/on A, A becomes wet. After vaporing the water with volume of V2, A becomes dry again because it is not covered with, or soaked with liquid. But here comes a question: does the liquid vapored from A+B totally belongs to B? does the cup considered to be wet as long as there is a H2O molecule belongs to B? if some part of A vapors, isn't it weird considering that dry thing can vapor? The definition of wetness is; 'the state or condition of being covered or saturated with water or another liquid; dampness' and that means, if you will take a single molecule of water and you'll cover it with water, its wet. This single molecule is wet, and that means if you'll look on water (in a glassor in a lake/pond/pool) like on a bunch of molecules, then you'll see that every single molecule of this water is from some side covered in water. WATER IS WET. Edit: Also, something is dry, when it's NOT wet, that means fire, because of how hot it is, it cannot be wet, so it must be dry. Things are either dry, or wet.

That's inaccurate. Two different things are happening when water touches itself vs something else. Wetness is adhesion. (of two or more dissimilar substances) to be united by a molecular force acting in the area of contact. Water touching itself doesn't adhere. It COHERES. Cohesion (the tendency of a chemical's molecules to stick together) and adhesion (the tendency of the molecules of two different substances to stick together) are two entirely separate things, and wetness is adhesion specifically. Water is neither wet nor dry. Fire is not dry because it's not a substance. Fire is an effect.

That One Kid Kat ok, but then I’m *sure* scientists would have made a word to describe the consistency of water. But they DIDN’T. Do you know why? Because water is damn wet, because SCIENTIFICALLY, in order for something to be WET it needs to be surrounded by water molecules, which OBVIOUSLY water is surrounded by DAMN WATER MOLECULES which makes water WET. Not only THAT but our fingers were made to be able to FEEL things, ‘TOUCH’ being one of our five senses. Since we have the ability to TOUCH things and FEEL THEIR CONSISTENCY, we can feel that FIRE is hot, that WOOD is rough or smooth, that ice is cold, or that our blankets are soft, which INCLUDES THAT WATER IS WET. So if you feel that your water is dry or whatever you suspect water to be, then something is damn wrong with your sense of touch or your water.

Reply your first Argument, You said that scientist would have came up with a word to describe the consistency of water, to that I answer they did, and it’s called viscosity measurement. As well, what does wetness have anything to do with a consistency of water, neither does it prove that water is or is not wet. Reply to your Second argument, Wet definition: “Covered or saturated with water or another liquid” water can’t be covered or saturated with itself Just because water molecules surround something does not “scientifically” mean something is wet. Wet is a godamn adjective that describes a state of interaction between water and what happens after they meet. If you need even more proof you can even fucking search it up on google and it will show u that water is in fact not wet. So, let's be precise here. According to the Cambridge dictionary wet is defined as "covered with water or another liquid". Considering that water is covered by water (since each molecule has lots of water molecules around it) it fits in the definition. Therefore, water is, unquestionably, wet. We could also say that something dry - the opposite of wet - doesn't have water in it, so as water has water in it, water is not dry.

Btw i love the argument that fire is dry. Fire is just heated air through an exotermal reaction, i. E. The burning of wood into coal or ash. The heat of the flame evaporates water and makes THINGS dry but isnt dry itself. Its the opposite actually. If you burn wood, you can hold something over the flame and it will get a bit wet, because of the evaporated water from the wood

Alright, let's get into the debate. First, by definition, something is wet when it is in contact with water. If you get a shower, you are wet. When you exit the shower, you are still wet because you still have water on you. But, what is water ? Water is not just a bunch of liquid, it's a molecule. So, if we follow previous definition, two or more molecules of water together are making each-other wet, as each molecule is in contact with other water. However, a single water molecule is NOT wet, as it is not in contact with any kind of water. So, I would say water is wet, if we don't consider the option to have only 1 water molecule...
