Is WEEKDAY The Best For Affordable Basics?

So, to carry on my series of looking for the best basics out there, I’m going to be reviewing Weekday today. I have picked up a load of stuff from the brand and I’m going to talk about what I like about them and what I don’t like.
If you didn't know who Weekday are, they are a Swedish brand, owned by H&M. They offer basic clothing at an affordable price and they are very popular these days.

personally the great t-shirt is the most perfect t-shirt I have bought to date. I did have to size down to S while I'm usually M/L because it is so insanely big. But the material feels so nice and it fits great if you size down

I buy the weekday great tshirts a size smaller than I normally wear. They are really great that way, still the nice thick fabric and snug collar but massively oversized

I used to love Weekday for its quality, but after 2016, I noticed the quality wasn’t the same, especially not after covid hit: loose buttons, faulty stitching, and in general defects, I prefer ordering online as I hate wearing clothes that are pre worn. They still have nice pieces, and it’s my nr. one for jackets, coats etc, as that’s all that fits me, and I tend to shop in the women’s section as long as it’s oversized, but the fact that they also still only has bottoms/pants up to only a size 36, is quite disturbing seeing its a Swedish brand and I’m Norwegian, and we’re in 2023. Proper brands has sizes up to 40 minimum in men’s jeans. In that regard they are not better than Zara who has just shrunk their sizes over time, now it’s only gonna work if you’re a size zero, and I used to be skinny and shop at Zara regularly back when I was young and skinny pre 2013. Weekday tend to have better pieces for fall/winter than spring/summer as I move layering.

For a long time I was looking for a black, oversized hoodie. I have 3 (Green, navy, dark pink) from uniqlo, but I got a little bored with the standard silhouette and wanted variety in my wardrobe. And a few days ago I passed by this store and found a coveted hoodie and immediately bought it without hesitation. As for the rest of the assortment, clothes on weekday are cool, a lot of interesting things, but they seemed a little expensive to me. But basic things like hoodies, sweatshirts and t-shirts in it at a nice price. Thank for your hard work Harry ❤️

Interesting. I think the jeans look cool, even if the waistband isn't that snug fitting. Good info as usual, mate. Imma try harder to wake up at 4am next Sunday to see if I can catch the video as it goes live, and not two or three hours later 😅 I still think you should do a video about different style underwear; I too wear Calvin's (and Nike's) most of the time, but there are different lengths, fabrics, styles, etc. Great video again, Harry.

@@duppa quality is great my friend. Not all expensive thing are "overpriced" Since ithey have good basics you could get 1000 more wears out of their product then cheaper alternative.

@@kaurraag523 I own a fair bit of Cole Buxton, at the end of the day it’s sweats they can only ever be made so ‘premium’. The price for the quality of the products are overpriced as you can get high quality 100% cotton products for more than half the price. You pay the premium because it isn’t fast fashion, and is all designed and made in England.

I want to order these Ken trousers but now they have two versions of them - ones are 100% cotton called Ken Jersey trackpants and the other ones Ken Tracksuit pants that are 63% polyester and 33% viscose and i’m not sure which ones to get. 😖

My problem with the H&M group is that they produced similar clothes with just different price tags. Go and check the basic clothing style at H&M, Weekday and Arket everything looks the same. And personally I'm tired of the minimalistic Nordic style tha dominates fashion.. I need something more creative..

It’s definitely similar but the cuts and quality get better with the brand/price from my experience. You don’t have to make up your outfits entirely of pieces from these places to get a whole look that resembles these stores. Everyone needs basic tees, trousers and denim and then you can add in more statement pieces from other shops. These stores offer basics that most people can afford and then it’s what you pair them with that gives you whatever look you enjoy

@@HarryHas The quality of H&M and Weekday is the same as both brands use the same production plant after that are labeled with HM or Weekday tags. However, the marketing team of H&M has persuade the customer that are buying different articles with different quality etc.
