Hey Boogie, I'm a big fan of your channel, I just want to take a minute to talk about my happy ending. 4 Months ago, I was diagnosed with an Intimal Sarcoma of the Pulmonary Artery. Basically, my right lung's artery, was clogged with a big tumor. On January 4th 2017, the doctor called me, and said that the pathologist ran a test on the sample taken weeks earlier and the results came with a 95% chance of being a sarcoma. A very rare case of cancer. I had two choices, live with it and see how it goes, giving myself maybe, 1-2 years at best or... Removing the tumor inside the artery, resulting in the loss of my entire right lung. On january 20th 2017, I was on the table and the surgeon removed the lung. I am 27 years old (April 23rd 1990) and I now live with one lung. The recovery is going very well, but living with one lung is special. I have to learn to live my life a little bit differently. I really want you to believe in yourself Boogie, you will make the good choice, and you will live a long time. Great Channel, Great Person. Boogie, I wish you the best!

I had gastric surgery 13 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I started at 306, got down to 140 and now maintain at around 180. My biggest challenge has been how to reward myself when I cannot do so with food. Believe me, if you overeat and vomit until you think you are going to die, you will NOT use food as a reward anymore! The best thing I did as a reward was when I got to the size I could ride the rides at Universal Studios in Florida, I went and rode EVERYTHING. I was terrified. I got on every single roller coaster and scary ride and I had a ball. I will be applauding with a gazillion others the day you toss that scooter away and walk the halls of whatever CON you are attending. Best of luck sir.

True enough she probably paid so much money for something she could easily achieve by going to the gym and eating like a normal human being for one year. She probably would have been stronger too and she could whatever she wanted. Well still happy for her but that was a mistake

Is it the easy way out? I'd say that's a circumstantial question. That being said, even if it is the easy way out, that a bad thing? To me, it's not something that should be focused on. You are starting a journey to become a more physically and mentally healthy man. Who cares if it's easier or harder or anything in between? It does not matter. This surgery will hit you with some of the most daunting challenges you'll ever face in your entire life, and that's what should be the forefront of your discussions about this topic. You acknowledged in this video that you do want to do this not just for your family, but for yourself. That for me is a crucial sign that tells me you are more than capable of doing this. I cannot explain how happy that makes me. You are an inspiration to me and i presume everyone who watches your videos every day. You've helped me out a lot over the past year with my own issues, and i sincerely thank you.

Hi!! I want to tell you something being that I am 4 months post Bariatric Gastric Sleeve surgery as well as battling this Auto Immune Disease I've had since I was 12... YOU CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!! Your story is going to have a happy ending and I'm proud of you for making such a difficult decision to better yourself. My boyfriend and I have been following you for a while now and your story has been on the challenging side but your strength always seems to win whatever battle your going through. This is not by any means "the easy way out", it is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and probably for you too. But you will be okay. I think it's great you are taking the time to take such a big step for you and your wife. Sometimes the cards we are dealt with aren't the easiest and other times we blame ourselves but you are an inspiration! Keep going strong, don't give up, and continue to remember the reason you started this journey in the first place. Much much love from Miami!!

I believe in that Happy Ending Boogie2988, but here are some other things I believe in I want you to know: 1. You are strong and an inspiration. Try not to focus on not going through with those diets because guess what? After one ended you said "well what else can I try". You didn't just give up. 2. You help countless others either currently or formally abused by just sharing your story. Its just like you said about the other KZbinr claiming abuse on Nicole, by speaking about it you validate all the pain and emotion others feel from their own abuse and say "you are NOT alone". 3. Most of all, your fans love you. We really do. And we will always come together and lift you up. No matter how heavy you are. :P

boogie my man you can do it. You inspire me every day that even if you haven't had the best life you can become the best person, I think you are a great person. I'm sure you are reading this and then naming a bunch of flaws but everyone sees a lot of courage I don't know how I would survive threw the child hood you had man. Thank you. I believe that if you did not have a hurt back you would have been swimming down to your 200! Hopefully this can but less strain on your bones and make it easier. We all have our demons boogie your just not afraid to admit them. Excited to see that you are getting that done! Glad to see you happy you deserve it and I don't think its the easy way out I've had surgeries like 1/7 of what yours would be 11 times (if you want to know maybe message me if not it's fine) and was bed ridden for a week each time and thought it was bad yours sounds terrible. But just like my surgeries it is a necessary evil to be happier and healthier. Have a good day!

Hi Boogie, this is my first ever KZbin comment. I'm one of what I assume are many many people who watch videos from time to time on KZbin, but don't leave comments, and don't generally read comments to avoid possible negativity or just generally not being invested enough to feel like commenting. But I wanted to say, I'm pulling for you. You can absolutely achieve what you want to achieve, the evidence is all around us everyday. Never surrender. Good luck. Ill enjoy watching your journey.

I have to say I have been subscribed to your channel for a few yrs, I watched almost every video you post and I dont even play video games or enjoy them for the most part but I just love watching your videos and you do deserve your best chance at happiness. it is so easy for ppl to judge and call wls an easy way out but they have no idea. no idea to be trapped in a body where your physical activity is so limited that losing a significant amount of weigh to even be able to move around comfortably seems impossible, wls saved my life in 2013 I was over 400lbs. I had such intense social anxiety I only worked and went home. I can tell you there was nothing easy about it, the recovery, the six months of sickness afterwards, as a woman losing most of my hair due to the malnutrition. even through all that I'd do wls again and again because it saved my life, and the hard work I did with the tool of wls given to me made it all worth it! good luck with your journey I can't wait to see the goals and achievements you will be able to make!

hey boogie, I had RNY gastric bypass 3 years ago. I was 506 lbs day of surgery. it was my last shot. Drs told me I wouldn't see 25 years old. so surgery was my a hailmary. ITNOT THE EASY WAY OUT! This will change how your body reacts to food. You know all this. I tell everyone I talk to about this that it isn't something to do unless it is the last resort. For you, this seems like it will be the best idea. the Drs said I would get lucky to u be 250 lbs. Inow way 146lbs. and I celebrated my 27th bday in Feb. it is hard, but it is worth it. being afraid of dying on the table kept me awake for 2 days before surgery. so that might be normal. discipline is learned but your body will kind of force you to learn. I know you have others to talk about this but if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to message me. Hope all goes great for you.

Don't pray for his healing and recovery you should be praying for him to do something else, I don't want him needlessly doing surgery, that shit is bad, Avoid it, the best way to do it is to only use surgery if it's absolutely needed, I think he still has hope for not absolutely needing surgery.

I'm sorry you feel that way but if he has tried all the shit he listed - and probably more - for him, this is his next option. Do not impose your belief of surgery being bad on someone who has clearly thought long and hard about this, done the research, done anything else first, consulted with doctors, etc etc. He knows what he's doing. He knows there is always going to be a risk. It's not about what's easy or bad or whatever, it's about what works and Boogie sure as HELL deserves to see some results.

Hi Boogie. I started watching Francis via KZbin on Xbox about 2 years ago, and haven't commented until now. It took me awhile to figure out Francis and Boogie were one in the same! I love your vids though and this one got to me. It takes a lot of courage to tell the world what your plans are, the demons you've been fighting, etc. Believe me when I tell you're not the only one (and of course I know you know that). I'm proud of you for taking this next step in your life and I'll be praying for you as you work toward the day you can have the surgery. Last fall my daughter was diagnosed with a brain tumor that required surgery and the potential for losing her vision, sense of taste and sense of smell. That period of time was the most scared I've been in my 58 years on this earth. I spent a lot of time thinking, praying, and hoping for a good outcome. She pulled through and the tumor was not cancerous, thank God. Think positive thoughts everyday and we'll be watching. Cheers, Frank

For me, Boogie is a perfect example how powerful the internet is. I mean: I'm just a random swiss teenager, and he's an American in his 40's, how am I even supposed to know him without any technology? There are oceans between us! But in the internet, nobody cares who you are, what you did or where you're from. All kind of people come together. I'm not even overweight by my own, my body is in a good shape. But still your videos are very motivating, because your message can be related to any problem: Never stop fighting! I have an anxiety disorder too tho...

Oh Boogie, proud of you man. I'm always impressed with your honesty and candor. The greatest lesson I learned is to never put your self-worth on your accomplishments and failures. You'll always be disappointed in yourself. You know Boogie, you wear your greatest mistake on the outside, so you can't hide it, but I tell you if I had to carry my greatest mistakes with me all the time, for the world to see and criticize, I'd feel 10x more ashamed than you feel. The advantage I have, and the other 10,000 commentors have, is that our mistakes have a certain level of anonymity to them, so we have the advantage of feeling self-righteous. Now I hope you won't mind my getting a bit religious here, but I can't help it because I sincerely believe it. I have found the only thing in life that sincerely and consistently gives me a sense of value and worth is my personal relationship with God, who is the definition and source of love and meaning. I know I know... that's cheesy and doesn't play well in our modern society, but I sincerely believe it, and I'm hoping you can find that sense of value and unconditional love. I'm praying for you Boogie!

You are amazing and have come a long way, I know you have been given advice but I want you to understand this is not advice. I was shown a video "The secret' it was a amazing. KNow so you understand, I take everything with a grain of salt and I did with this, but it definitely was a start to a huge mindset change for me and my family, I will not say that the video made me who I am but it sure did help with my mindset and I have now moved onto many wonderful things in my life. With what I've gone through in my life, my happy ending would be to recover emotionally and achieve what I know I'm able to do. I've always been a science student at heart, always loved math and always wanted to use it to do great things, but as of recently I've developed severe anxiety and depression to the point where every single time a project or final exam rolls around my thoughts are just going "you shouldn't be here", "you might as well face death and get it over with", "this is all pointless." I'm hoping I'll be able to work through it, even though so far it seems like nothing, be it therapy or medication, is helping. That's my happy ending. I hope you get yours too man. I've always really appreciated how you read all the comments on these kinds of videos, and make it all so much more sincere than other people I've watched. And you take an interest in the lives of your viewers, which is so rare nowadays. Thank you so much, and don't ever lose sight of the fact that you do deserve this. You're a great man.

I look to rewrite my addict's tale. Losing all my friends, my love, and my future all to chase the next high. Spending so many years out of my mind escaping reality with substances no man woman or child should put into their body, and at such high amounts I'll never be the same person I was before I started. I'm over two months sober, I've cut ties with everyone from my past, I'm alone, no career, no love...only my family left. This means that I have every opportunity in the world to start over, I've clicked the reset button on the xbox that is life and my red ring of death has yet to come back yet. I can be whoever I want from this point on, meet who I want, make friends, find love and build a future....Everyday I spend sober and working hard for the future is one step closer to my happy ending.

Fuck the haters Boogie. If you have the option of getting weightloss surgery, GO FOR IT. In reality, it doesnt matter if anyone else thinks its taking the easy way out. Even if it was, WHO CARES. Its your HEALTH. Its not some trivial matter. Its literally life and death. People who say that, might as well tell people who get chemo and radiation that THEY are taking the easy way out.

Hi Boogie! I`ve watched you for a while, through many different years and accounts, and I`ve never commented. I dont ever really comment on anything. I adore you boogie, you`re a beautiful human being. In and out, I think the surgery is one of the hardest options out there. I eat my feelings to, and I`ve been fighting a lot going on in my life, a lot of death, about 10 funerals of close family in 4 months. It`s been pretty brutal. I fight tears just to write this. You`ve always fought for a happy ending, as I have. I just wanted you to know that watch your videos as really helped get me through losing so much. I just wish I could hold your hand through all this! Good luck and lots of love!

Not at all. My mother did it and it brought so many new problems after a few years that sometimes I wish she hadn't done it. She was a lot happier for a while but now she has to take pills for nutrition. It is different for everyone, I know, but it should always be seen as a conscious change and as a dangerous one. It forces a person to be somebody else but that doesn't mean the person has the strength to do it.

Hey man! I know you probably won't see this, but I hope you do. I've watched your videos occasionally over the years, and even though I hadn't subscribed until now, I want you to know how much respect I've always had for you. I have more respect for you than almost any of the people I'd actually been subscribed to as a matter of fact. And maybe that doesn't sound all that important, but to me it is. There aren't many people who have earned my respect. I'm not a religious person, so I don't pray, but you'll be in my thoughts. We all love you man, and we love you because you're you. This so called "easy way out" is a harder decision to make than any I've ever had to make in my life. This on it's own is deserving of respect my friend, and yet you've done so much more for so many people and for this community that you are deserving of far more respect. You're about to open a new chapter in your life, and I have full confidence that you will succeed. I hope to be a part of your community for as long as possible, and even though I'm just one guy out of millions, know that I'll be right there with you every step of the way, and so, so, soooo many others will be too.

Everyone has a different experience. There are some who draw the unfortunate lot and struggle with complications and (rarely) death. There is no crystal ball to consult. You just have to look at your co-morbidities and decide if you'd rather die from them or take the chance that this surgery will keep you alive. For me, my doctors said that I'd be dead by now from my other health problems that being 400 pounds caused. I have three kids to live for... the choice was easy. The struggles with diet and vomiting, those are miniscule to me compared to the fact that I am still here for my family.

Hi Boogie, this video really hit me in a lot of ways. First, it's not the same thing at all, but my dad just had surgery on his carotid artery and I was really scared he was going to die since my mom died when I was 12 and I was terrified of losing my other parent (he had a 1% chance of dying) and he ended up being totally fine, and it turns out the artery was close to 100% blocked which means he could've died or at least had many strokes and been incapacitated pretty soon without the surgery. So I'm so glad that had a happy ending! Second, my mom was pretty lousy to me. Not like your mom, but bad enough I got taken from my home. And I couldn't agree more with what you said about being a better person in spite of that and not because of it. Abuse tends to beget abuse--the fact that you are such a kind and loving man is YOUR doing, in spite of the odds put on you by your past. So I know you've got surgery ahead of you and I'm rooting for you like crazy, but I want you to know I think you've already written your happy ending. This is just an extra happy epilogue.

hey boogie, we all love you very much and want to see you reach that happy ending you deserve, and you do because everyone deserves to be happy. similarly to you i suffered from a terrible depression where i would wake up every day and just felt miserable, and in a constant state of dispare. it was a crushing sadness that got painful at times, and it started to turn me nasty and agressive over the slightest thing. to the point where i tried to take my life on two occasions. I eventually got passed it, there is a happy ending for us all but you need to work and fight for it otherwise time will pass you by faster than you can comprehend and youll get swallowed up by everything. so i believe in you boogie and ill be so happy to see you when you finally get the happiness you deserve.

I don't want to take credit for someone elses comment. Someone on here wrote that you should write an autobiography... I think that's an excellent idea. What a perfect happy ending that would be for you to come out of a successful bariatric surgery and write your life's story sprinkled with your unique perspective and advice. You say you don't believe in putting all of your eggs in one basket, this is a great way to add some revenue to your life, you already have a fan base that will support your book; plus you'll be reaching out to a wider audience unfamiliar with your channel or Twitch Stream. Hell, long after you're gone from this world some kid may still pick up your book, blow some dust off of it, and still be impacted by your life's story. You should REALLY look into it.

Hopefully your case will be similar to mine, I've had no pain and very little difficulty eating. But I think I am very lucky. Hope it all works out for you, and I hope its as easy a process for you in America as it was for me down here in Australia. Regarding the danger, I went onto the table at 255kg (560ish lbs) and my surgery team said it went perfectly. Since then I'm down another 15kg. When I first started the process over a year ago I was around 280kg. Keep at it man. Its the single best thing you can do. And you are right it is not the easy way out in the slightest. I say, even if it is the easy way out. If it saves your life. Go for it. That self hate can be toxic. I had to deal with that for most of my life. Not to your level but it has created problems for me. I'm finally growing out of that. I had to learn to forgive myself. I still have days where my mind will over exaggerate a situation and I start to beat up on myself but I'm starting not to listen to that guy as much. It getting easier now that thing I've been working my whole life for, art and animation, is starting to pay off for me so now the struggle has been worth it. I'm starting to write my happy ending. Because - a new, tiny, stomach and a new way of learing what and when to eat is going to...reprogramm your brain about food and eating and about what it means to be fed up - you will learn that well fed is not the same like "completely full" (overloaded) - so that will change your mind completely in that matter. It's hard to state what I mean, because englisch is not my foreign language but i guess you'll get the point. Now what can I futher say to you boogie...you have my support going your way!! I can say, that for me this surgery was the only way and I never had to regret that decision- even if there are some downsides also, but in total it was worth everything! Wish you the best, boogie!

Depression is a bitch. It makes you question what you deserve of if you deserve anything when rationally speaking, of course you deserve happiness. There's no logical reason why you don't deserve to be happy. I hope you find peace in your mind, but in the meantime, it'll be nice to see your physical health improve :) Keep fighting the good fight.

Hey Boogie. I am a new view to your channel but this is great video and a very personal look into what you deal with and I thank you for sharing it and your earnestness about the whole matter. It is definitely not an easy way out. My wife had the RNY gastric bypass almost two years ago. The run up to the procedure required dietary counseling, mental counseling, had to do a diet beforehand. Afterwards it will also require a lifestyle change as you know with what you can and cannot eat and how your body reacts to different foods. It is still a big change and not an easy way out. Surgery can be done orthroscopically (sp/?) and as you mentioned is is rather lower risk. Best of luck in your operation and your happy ending. My happy ending is to reunite our family. We have been in the process of moving to Colorado from Minnesota. Part of that move was to send my wife and children out to CO a head of time to get things ready for the rest of us to come out (myself, son, and our livestock). This has proven way more difficult and we have been apart since August 2016. So my happy ending is for us to find that perfect place in Colorado to move to and be all together happily under one roof.

I'm really happy for you, Boogie, and I believe with full confidence you're going to get through this. I think it will be hard as hell, but I think you'll come out the other end with the best life you've ever had. My idea of a happy ending? I've been suffering from exercise bulimia for several years now. It's been so terrible. It's dominated my life, cycles of being so hungry that it would hurt when I'd breathe and my heart would race, followed by bingeing on sweets until I was sick. The worst part was I was trapped in my bedroom on a stair stepper to "purge" the calories nearly all hours of the day completely alone. A few time even past twenty hours. If I would get off the exercise machine even to go to the kitchen or restroom I would walk in place while not on the exercise equipment and feel panicked to get back on it. The only time I would generally be off it was when I was in class. I've permanently hurt my knee from it. I was so depressed for so long, and I was convinced the my ticket was up at twenty-eight years old. But I've finally done it. I still struggle, but I'm off of the exercise equipment and no longer bingeing or starving (which was what led to the binges for me in many cases). I'm still in shock that I'm almost through this, and my "happy ending" would be to finally be able to live my life again and self-actualize. And I think I'm almost there, and I really confident you are too, Boogie. Thanks for your encouraging and honest videos, David

I had gastric bypass almost 8 years ago, I lost 130 pounds and have kept it off for 8 years. I credit the surgery with saving my life. Since surgery I have finished 3 ironman triathlons. Despite what anyone says, it is not the easy the way out. Keeping it off has been a challenge over the years but following the post surgery rules is key. Right now I'm going through all the extra skin removal, which is another tough aspect of this. Good luck!

I was really deep into the triathlon thing. For 6 years I lived and breathed triathlon. Placed in most of my races, went to nationals, won state championships, did 3 ironman triathlons, 7 half ironman triathlons. The extra skin bothered me but I ignored it and wore compression gear for as long as I could. Early last year, the extra skin on my abdomen began to protrude and I started looking pregnant. In addition to that, I was getting lower back pain from the heavy flaps of skin. I decided to take a break from triathlon and finally go through the process. I had the abdomen skin done 8 weeks ago, and I'm 3 weeks away from the skin on my butt and thighs. After that will be getting my arms done

Keep up the hard work Boogie. It may be a tough up hill battle, but we are here for you. Keep it up, and remember, one foot in front of the other. One thing my Drill Sargent kept telling us in boot camp: "You need to learn to crawl before you can walk. You need to learn how to walk before you can run. And you need to learn to run before you can fly." Keep at it man, we've got your back. Just don't loose sight of who makes you Happy, and why she's so important in your life. She may be your angle that came to bless you and help you, She may be your best friend that helps push you further then you thought possible, She may be the true reason why you are happy with your life. Just keep striving, pushing and working towards your goal. She's got your back, and we've got your back, and all of us just want you to be happy.

When people realise they share the same queries or issues as others- such as with the creator of this video or fellow youtubers, they may no longer feel alone, frustrated and down. Because they realise they aren't alone and that there are millions of people in the same position as them. The 'change' along with any helpful information that may be given is that this can help boost confidence levels on decisions everyone makes, and give optimism on their future ahead Whether the majority, health experts or the public, would think his decision is the best one as a first step in becoming healthier, may be debatable, but doing something about any issue is better than doing nothing. Of course you should gather as much information from as many trusted sources as you can. Consulting a GP with your list of the questions relating to what concerns you the most, and what your best next step should be, should be a priority

Oh dear Boogie, I had RNY gastric bypass in 2005. At that time they knew virtually nothing about the long-term effects of the surgery. I've had complications the last couple of years. I'm so happy to know that now bariatric surgeons have a whole new knowledge of this and what needs to be done before the surgery ever takes place. When I had it done it was sign these papers and let's get it done. Now, 12 years later, doctors know a whole lot more about long-term effects and can help prevent the things that I've experienced. As far as this being the "easy way out", it definitely is not! I promise there isn't a single traditional diet that comes close to how difficult this can be. Your entire lifestyle has to change. Literally. My advice, for what it's worth, do exactly what you are instructed to do after the surgery. And make sure your surgeon explains very clearly the immense changes that will be made to your body. It changes so many things about nutrient absorption and what you can and cannot eat. Rice is my enemy!!! Lol!!! I pray everything goes well for you and that you can find a peaceful place in your mind and heart going into this. Fear is absolutely natural before any surgery anxiety issues or not. But just making the decision to have the surgery is the first step towards changing everything about you and your life. And it's not bad. You're gonna do great!!!

Go Boogie! We are with you. I know the downside of surgeries is you can't eat large pieces of food or a lot, I believe. Carnie Wilson had it and I think actually broke the band. There is still willpower involved, but I support what you do. You are an inspiration to many of us out there dealing with all sorts of issues. Eff the Trolls!

I just want to take the time to tell you how incredible it is to me you are working through this. Boogie. Like others said. You probably won't read this. However, I'm gonna say it because who knows. Man I feel your pain on levels you can't imagine. I got stories similar to yours and I've been overcoming them over the past few years. I decided to put myself out there on my journey as a means to keep myself accountable. I know where you are coming from when you talk about turning to food because of severe psychological trauma. I actually live very close to you man. We could meet up and chat if you ever need another person for support. Push through man. Contrary to what you're thinking. It's ok to do more than just be excited. It's ok to believe in yourself man. Good luck!
