this is a great set, i was pleasantly surprised! the mechanics were fun (even though powers were benched) and the new rules had helped. the figures play well together and there was a nice balance for close and range combat. a great set for any new player to start with. my only concern is that the SRs are around 2 a brick... personally, my most favorite sets were Mutations and Monsters, House of X (pity the distribution was bad) and War of Light (if i can count this OP set).

I started with CAAV and found it to be my favorite up until JLU came out, and that's mainly due to nostalgia. This set has been fantastic, though, because of how beginner-friendly it is. Plus, it doesn't hurt that my daughter loves Wonder Woman, so it's been fun opening boosters with her.

I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan and was worried that I'd be disappointed. I'm not. It's a great set with fun interactions! I definitely wish the chase themes were more tied to WW directly and that generics packed a bit more punch (especially compared to similarly costed figs from previous sets). Love the Secret Identity mechanic! Love the WW TA! Love the kickass Hippolyta, looking regal in her gown - QWEEN!!! Love the 2 kinds of objects - constructs and equipment.

This is def my fav dc set in a while, im glad to see lots of meta potential from the set, also alot of fun team builds for casual players, great equipment, fantastic chases, i could go on and on lol, def 2 thumbs up!!!!

Great video and I agree that this is an amazing set. People were worried about the rules changes but the thing I love most is no longer can people point to a figure and go "This would be a great figure, if it had Indom". 100% agree with the generics being in every pack but I feel this may push to a Sidekick Swarm Meta with figures from FFFF and WW80th blending but hey, better than a Colossal Retal Meta. The two SRs is a bit of a let down (Unless you pull a 3rd being the SR prime) but I will say all the SRs are flavorful and don't feel out of place even though we have a Red Son and Non-Chase Lanterns. I would also would of gladly taken one less SR out of my brick in previous sets to guarantee a chase figure (Looking at you Rebirth). Also glad Batman and Superman took a 1 figure back seat on this ride while the lesser characters of DC got to shine. Lastly this set gave me a double chase Commissioner booster, I will be biased in favor of this set for a long time because of it XD.

Caveat: have not played a game with This set yet, but after returning to the game from her three-year hiatus, this is very much a pleasurable sent to re-enter with. Great level of expression/body language and some of the wonder woman and Donna Troy sculpts. And I do think they could go even further with the army builders for the common rarity. The Call in mechanic Makes those figures much more appealing. I pulled more R Zeus in my bricks than the gorillas (3-1). So, maybe they develop a “super common” rarityFor those figures. Otherwise I’m just sitting on a pile of huntresses

This set would be absolutely perfect if it wasnt for the fact that you had 11 Wonder woman figures in there.. Heck the shifting focus one is busted enough (Latveria nuff said) but they had to add her for every freaking mechanic when they could have used that slot for someone else.. Like finishing up Young Justice or teen titans ijs.. They also could have gave the Wonder woman equipment ( wings) invincible for a figure equipped with wonder woman team ability on base... But all in all very happy with set.

sorry im newer can you explain what a buy by the brick or case heroclix is and what upc and mailing thing you talked about is?

There use to be a program called buy it by the brick where you could mail in 10 UPC codes to Wizkids and they would send you an exclusive figure that could only be gotten that way. Often they were limited to 5000 figures. Because of covid last year, wizkids decided that a good way to distribute last year's convention exclusives that could not be released would be to run a buy it by the case. Wizkids has a special form on their webpage that needs to be filled out. Mail that firm with 20 UPC codes from Wonder Woman 80th anniversary and they will mail you an unreleased convention exclusive figure.

I don't know if is the best, still I can't buy anything by the moment (I hope I can in a month or two) but rules aside (some I liked somethings not so much) but I'm with you on many opinions you have about value per brick, objects, legacy cards, variety and so on. I don't know if are the best but I really liked Galactic Guardians on his day, and some sets like the Marvel 10th Anniversary, Chaos War, and Fear Itself, but only because those were good moments for me before I was forced to quit.

I agree too. For the price point we should feel we are getting more than our money's worth. the distribution of FF FF and XMen HOX was bad. We should be guarenteed chase and x number of super rares and rares.

I think its ok. There aren't a whole lot of "must haves" in here for me. I agree with your negatives of the powers benching. I don't think it's a terrible set, per se, just not my cup of tea. Been clixin since its inception, and sets strongly aimed at newbies are the ones that I usually don't see a lot that I need. Of course we're all newbies, of a sort, with the new rules and this set being the first produced under these new rules. Objects are a big plus, but they can make for ridiculous secondary market prices. I'm still wondering when the sculptors are going to catch-up with the new scale on their detail work. I feel it should have been obvious to them that the sculpts they were producing at the smaller scale would not look so great at a larger scale without a shift towards better detail. And that detail is still lacking for an overwhelming amount of figures. Anyway, I hope this set sells well, I'd hate for WW become a sore spot for future set subject consideration.

I agree with most of what you said, even the things that fell a little short. I'll probably just buy the figures I want individually at this point because they're aren't too many characters I want in the set. The only thing I disagree with is that it cannot be the best heroclix set because it doesn't have a single Spider-Man.

Sorry i have to add this one thing.. If you are talking about generic figures.. These are the best generic figures i ever saw in a heroclix set.. The best and most busted generic is the Amazonians for the simple fact that they are allys.. Omg they are about busted.. How busted first use the shifting focus wonder woman generate the Amazonians... They have close combat reflexes.. Shift out to armor wonder woman now they have 19 defense but up close they are 21 defense.. On top of that use the spider man from future foundation.. Yes the one that gives all allies super senses and since the Amazonians have the wonder woman team ability they will succeed on a 4-6 if you are able to get past there defense.. And if you are worried about there attack just put on your sideline the high evolutionary ( non prime), Aries, and there are two others that can possibly pump up the attack of those Amazonians... Heck you wouldnt even have to attack with wonder woman.. You can simply punish a person with the Amazonians.. Also for giggles since youre making them spider friends put in mary jane just to tick some people off.. Yeah this set is a lot of fun just wish superman was 250 😆

I am going to respectfully disagree 1. First set? That is what a starter is for. An entire starter expansion is a terrible idea and benching powers is an epic fail. 2. I get some like generics. We had a ton in the last few sets, though. I hate them, personally. They are the undercard to the main event for me. 3. Objects - I like them - however when you buy a brick and get 0 objects, I don't find there to be much value too often - and it isn't great for new players. 4. Got 1 chase and only 1 SR in my brick - this set is crap. Almost as bad - how many errors are in this set? Ferdinand is the wrong cost, Medusa isn't a flier, Amazon Warrior has the wrong damage values, Zeus has a wrong cost - that is AWFUL for new players. 5. So far Legacy Cards have been done poorly - in a set with 8 Wonder Womans, Legacy cards for more Wonder Womans is a dumb idea. Should have used them for characters that were needed but didn't make the set not competing with the main set's push. 6. Buy It By The Case - I ripped off the WW #'s, not cutting out the square in the side of the booster - yeah, it was my mistake, but I'm over-paying for crap - making me jump through hoops just leaves a bad taste. 7. Boosters are $15 each - that is not a price point for new players. I am a huge Wonder Woman fan but this is a huge let down. The boring dials of 3 clicks of duplicate powers followed by 3 clicks of a new set of 2 powers is awful. As far as sealed goes, I have never been more bored playing a sealed game than I have, this set. 2 damages meant I was fishing for crits. In every set I have played - even in ones I had no interest in buying, the sealed games have been fun. WizKids really was nailing the last few years of sealed. These new hires really ruined it. I think some of the higher end pieces are fun - but the commons are just not for me.

WW80 was by far THE best DC set period. Spidey/Venom was best marvel set, and I only buy x-men from marvel.
