I think the funniest thing to come from Wuwa's success is people's exposure to Kuro's generosity and treatment of players, because they've been spoiling PGR players for years now, to the point that we're scared how they're even running the game. And for doubters that think this "generosity" by Kuro is just a PR stunt, believe me it's not, over the 4 and a half years PGR has existed we've received like at least 2 S Character selectors (Not including that you get to pick an S rank you get for your first pity, making it a third S character selector) , 1 A rank, and same for the weapons too hell for the 4.5 anniv they're straight up giving Bianca Stigmata (S+ meta character) for free, no strings attached. And they've managed to continue improving year after year, proving that Gacha games don't need to be stingy to earn a profit. Wuwa feels like it's headed down a similar albeit more recognized path than PGR, knowing Kuro it's going to only become better with time, I can't say the same about it's relevancy however, but you can always trust Kuro to deliver the goods with quality

I just don't understand how Kuro works TBH, like, don't you think it doesn't make sense? One thing is giving free characters, any gacha does that but Kuro is not just giving free characters: Ayla Kaleido Selena Cappricio Alisa Echo Now Bianca Stigmata They aren't just optional picks you have available if you weren't lucky in your pulls, they are *STILL* to this day, core members of their current meta, if you lack an Ice DPS, a Dark DPS or a Physical DPS, they all can pose as your main DPS in a F2P account, and *EVEN* if you get the current best DPS for each of those teams, you will still have them on the team on default nowadays. Like, Genshin gave out that girl from collab, but forget about being weak, she wasn't even noticed and got forgotten, HSR gave out Dr Ratio and while he is a great character, he is not THE META, if you get a better option, he gets replaced, but there has been no replacement for Ayla, Selena and Alisa since the day they gave them to us for free 💀 That's not how you make money Kuro, that's basically like giving Arlecchino for free 💀 Imagine if FGO gave out Caster Artoria or Koyanskaya of Light for free just because they are fan favorites, everyone loves Selena in PGR so they make both versions of her free!? That doesn't make any sense, if HSR players see this type of shit they will ask for Firefly to be free because she's the fandom baby girl 😂

@@Gacha-Ritual-Master My guess is that they make money because having an actually good game means more small spenders are willing to spend (as with me and some others I know) and because the whales will just whale anyway if they want to play that way. The people who already play to c6 every character they like are still going to do so, and margins won’t get hurt a ton just because they got the initial pull for free. The meaningful difference is that it makes everyone else who can’t put that much money into a game happy, which leads to additional benefits and some other income from smaller spenders.

I tried to play genshin before during release, however my laptop and phone didnt cut the minimum requirements, still enjoyed the trailers and funny moments on YT skits. Now I play WuWa on my phone as it was first my genshin like experience, has flaws but lots of improvements on the way. I can say its better than genshin, anyone has the right to say that, but its not right for me to attack on genshin and make fun of it for toxic clout. The only exception is when dealing with toxic people from genshin and fight back when they cross the line too far. I wish people can enjoy both games with no animosity, kinda missed the healthy competition

i dropped 850 € on GI in 2.5 years. I regret it deeply but won't touch it anymore (i still follow its news because i liked the characters) Worst is ; i used money and still felt like shit because its systems are so brutal. It will not. It has not happened, and never will until its story is over. Genshin's player base is still massive, and always around the 65 million it reached more than 2 years ago. It may only go down to 60 for a few weeks during the last patches of each new region, but people will always come back because the game is amazing. The same will happen with Natlan, the same will happen with Snezhnaya, the same will happen with whatever area/content comes after that.

One thing I've noticed with Genshin and that I see you doing here with Wuthering Waves is calling updates a "dead patch". Maybe I'm too new to the gacha space to understand what this term means, but to me it sounds like a patch without content. For WuWu 1.1 how is it a dead patch when they added a new region with a new main story quest? Sure streamers will finish the content in a day or two, but if you're only playing an hour a day, that's probably several weeks of content. Plus there is the new Illusive Realms update, which is a couple of hours at minimum. I would expect a dead patch to be one with no story content and no new regions, where the only new content is some lame recycled minigame events and maybe a new character. To give a Genshin Impact example, I thought that 4.4 was a really good patch because it added Chenyu Vale. As an exploration enjoyer, Chenyu Vale gives the best exploration experience in all of Genshin's overworld imo. I've spent hours there, and there's still more stuff for me to do. There was also the lantern rite stuff in 4.4 which is more significant than most of the events that the game runs. Yet people called this a dead patch. There was no main story in 4.4, so I guess there's that argument for it not having content. I agree with a bunch of the other Fontaine patches being devoid of content, but I remember people specifically calling out 4.4 and it confused me. I guess what I'm trying to ask is what qualifies as a dead patch? Is literally every patch that isn't a point zero major version update a dead patch? I feel like this is more an issue with content creators playing games as their jobs and playing a casual game for 8 hours a day.

1.1 wuwa is not a dead patch, a dead patch is when there is no new region, just new character or specially rerun characters and just filler quest that doesn't advance the main plot.

Maybe they're calling it a dead patch because they clear most content on the first week, but its not technically a dead patch, the other content will be coming up, people are just that fast when it comes to grinding a game. For casuals, the case is different. But if they want content every week what would i suggest in the next survey is make the illusive realm reset every week, with the 1000 astrite rewards divided into the 6 weeks (duration of the patch) like HSR Simulated that way people would have that 'content' they wanted

The WuWa hating videos at debut of the game are also massive bandwagons for clout chasing and getting views. There were bugs and issues, but the good majority did not have issues. Everyone spreading the news of the issues do just the "read the headline and not the article", especially when lots of it was misinformation. WuWa survived because they addressed the issues and handled their PR well. Tower of Fantasy did not and they died. Genshin doesn't have to play nice and boost their own PR because they have far too many shills to sink. Now that ZZZ has released at this time... it's not doing well either lol and that's expected with how badly the CBTs did.

WuWa barely got to 11 million active players even with all the hype that boosted its pre-registration numbers to above 30 million, and a lot had dropped the game not even a month after its release. Even the interest in the game dropped like a rock barely 3-4 weeks after its release (google trends, stream statistics, etc.) I doubt if it will have even half of its original numbers after 5-6 months from now. Genshin is still going strong, always staying near its peak of active players (around 65 million), and nothing will ever touch it.

I havent been able to give up genshin for the longest time until now. Now, i can barely play the game since it feels so slow and theres nothing to do. I dont like the new endgame either. Im only gonna log on for the story

I want to correct a point WuWa gonna be created regardless if Genshin was there or not simply cause the project was in before 2019 and just at the CN release of Alpha CA the one who design it go in the lead team of WuWa. Genshin have nothing to do exept show then what don t do with the community and type endgame and content.

Are people really mad ? I've only heard good stuff about Wuwa. The only down side for me about it, is that I can't play on my phone. I need to borrow my boyfriend's phone to play. I started Genshin because I could have easy access to it, and I still do. I don't have enough money to buy a computer, and even if I did, I have way more important stuff to buy first. I really hope they will find a way to deal with this issue because I really like the game. That being said I won't be mad if they don't. I have no clue how many poeple play Wuwa on their phone. If the numbers are too small they probably won't do anything because it's not worth it

It's now smoother at high graphic even on hologram. But unfortunately I'm too used to low framerates that I ended up hitting the dodge too early lol

I'm playing ZZZ... People complained about story and have to traveling for quests, then they got a game focused on combat, with skip button and easy task and they complain about the small world and the lack of activities... Also, I quit WuWa, I was forced to try it and the person that asked me to play with him probably quit after a new character got released on another game, and my other friends tried it and quit soon after, they had problems to run/install it or anyway for some reasons they quit in a week or less, some of them literally pulled for the copy of a character from another game, then they quit forever. It's also kinda funny how WuWa can't run on a lot of devices and a lot of my friends that tried it had soon after problems like the dead GPU, while all Hoyoverse games just run on old devices with no problems.

Genshin playing on old devices is a bit of a hindrance though, that means that they cant improve their graphics too muchnif they wantbthebold generation to be able tonplay the game , while wuwa is obvisously not too concerned about that. Graphics and draw distances and envirobment details on pc are way better in wuwa, so its normal the old devices cant keep up.

A lot of people (not everyone, but a considerable amount of people) are angry mostly by two things: - The game came disastrously rushed, even if the majority of bugs were fixed very quickly. - And the oother point that ties with this, and kinda repels me of playing the game even if I installed it recently (even if the gameplay seems fun): Kuro is considered a "black company" because of several layoffs that happened since last year and abusive treatment to their employees (which was noticeable not just by the fast-paced bug fixes, but also at the fact that the game was pretty obviously crunched). TLDR: A lot of people don't seem to hate the game because of Genshin, but because of Kuro.

Problem is they are highly likely to do this because wuwa is definitely something that is too huge for Kuro to churn out. Hoyo when Devs genshin is also hurting financially. And now add Kuro a company whose only input is the 400k per month they got from PGR. They rushed it because if they didn't rush it their company most likely went bankrupt. They genuinely made a gamble and they tried their hardest to survive. The first year of wuwa is gonna be extremely interesting
