Thank you, Sabrina. I am 35 and I have anxious avoidant attachment. I attract avoidant men. I’m exhausted and tired of being hurt and hurting myself. Thank you for this video. ❤️

After the breakup with my ex a month ago, I really had to understand my anxious attachment style and how to overcome it. He didn't say goodnight/reply to my messages for 1 night (it was more important because we had just had a long talk about communication - so it seemed like he didn't even take in anything we just talked about) and the whole next day I had anxiety and was crying - like he ruined my entire day/mood because I was thinking, well this is it, he doesn't even get me when it comes to improving our communication. My mum is SUPER ANXIOUS, and I grew up with so much anxiety and stress and also because my parents wanted to give me away when I was younger too. So yes fear of abandonment and people not wanting me. Really need to overcome this because I turn into a crazy person in a relationship at times - but I also know, when I do look back, sure yes on my end I have things to work on, but avoidants (every one of my exes), don't make it easy on us at times. Now moving more towards a secure attachment style - but I also know what to look out for with future dating and partners (stay away from super avoidants).

It’s supposed to be only the 4% of the population. Extremely rare actually.usually those people have tremendously disorganised love lifes(and general behavior)

I was just thinking I’m a combo of both, but it didn’t seem plausible. Totally avoidant until I find a guy I like and then anxious. Please help me break this cycle!

As a man, I am telling you, please please make a series on attachment styles. Make this the part I. Part II could be avoidant attachment style.

I 100% know that is my attachment style, the anxious style. It's something I've been working on and it's not easy, but as you said I think realizing this is something you struggle with will help in the future.

I’ve definitely had to work on my attachment style. I can say I’m making progress to a secure attachment style. I’ve mostly identified as anxious until I be came self aware. Some times the waiting part can feel like needles but waiting really does give you an opportunity to be objective and realize things are not bad. I’m just over thinking. Glad you’re back!!!!!

It’s like hearing about myself. Of course after a year a psychotherapy I knew I’m an Anxious. The only thing that helps is to seek help from an expert and grow. Trust me you’ll get there

Can you also share about secure attachment style? So that we can have a clear idea of how it is like to be in a healthy relationship and not fall into the other extreme of being an avoidant from an anxious attachment style. Thank you! :)

It’s taken me 8 months to start letting go of a connection I self sabotaged through my anxiety (I have anxious avoidant style and shut down after I misunderstood something) and a great guy I was dating for 2.5 months broke it off Its fundamentally changed my perspective as he was consistently communicating with me throughout the day, was consistent in his actions and words etc, he just wanted to not rush due to a divorce he had gone through a few years before and I interpreted this as him just wanting to string me along and ‘use’ me, he was such a sweet guy who would never do that anyway but still, I unravelled and blew it up and suffered so much as a result - it’s taught me so much about myself, my wounds, traumas etc and I hope that when I am ready to start dating and connect with someone new I will not make the same mistakes and be better prepared

I love hearing you out. I feel that this is me. Recently I was dating for 3 months and the guy says he really liked me, I know he was going thru some tough time because we had talk about it but after some time he just disappeared/ ghost me. it make me feel so angry, and sad because even if he stop being interested he just should of say it. Is so hard when people do this kind of sh** . Thank you for your great advice loving myself and moving on is my goal I know it will take time but patience will do.

The core of the problem is that we always center ourselves too much. If we just always thinks for the other person first, wouldn't have so much fear and anxiety.

So if I therapy myself and asked myself the therapy part questions ..and it said I feel I'm nothing without a gf and relationship because they would be who I want to do everything with like trips, dates, experiences and live life to the fullest with. So if I feel can't do all those things since don't have a gf... (because it's not the same as with friends or family. I want intimate moments as I'm experiencing it all) like kiss on a rooftop bar in a scenic new city, if I can't do any of that and really live life and have experiences with someone I feel like I'm nothing and my life is nothing So if I feel I'm nothing if can't have a gf for those reasons. Yet love myself and want a gf. What do I do with that conclusion?

How to deal with avoidant men?
@Katie8ginny3 жыл бұрын
In my opinion you don’t. Especially if you are an Anxious. They will trigger you non stop while it’s the hardest of all attachment styles to seek help and grow. Unless they want to change of course
