This is some solid advice. The build I ended up min/max was not the original build I intended to design. I pivoted after gaining several synergistic talents which let me change my rotation, and I happened to have all the skills. I kept building on the character, because I knew there was some potential but I was doing very low dps for my hybrid healer build. Eventually I lucked into even more, and more, and more of the talents that synergized with my new build. I ran with the lucky streak and it paid off big. So yeah, be open to the builds the game is just throwing at you, 100% agree.

So if you don't know, we had a line to Dutch on our discord, and he takes heavy influence from Magic the Gathering when it comes to Ascension. As far as build goes, you have a small influence on what you get by locking cards you want to keep on your character builder tab.

The algorithm you're referring to is the card pulls being weighted to what you are keeping or slotting/locking.

Seems too true. Last prestige pushed 20+ healing talents and abilities on me when I carded up for shadow dmg. This one started for fire and it's throwing bleeds at me left and right

You need to think that you can have 8 abbilities or buffs (4 starting, 4 skill cards) and you just need to make the build from those cards, and spend rerolls on talents. Second option is write down the abbilities and talents you need on spreadsheet, then you prestige until you get 90% of them and then reroll.

Cool vid , I share some of your ideas about it not being completely random aswell . I was watching another dude craft his build by going resolute mode , farming as many quest caches as possible until you reach a level where most of your good talents roll. Like lvl 25 or something. Rolling at those levels has a much smaller pool of choices so it's "easier" to hit those key talents needed for decent dps. Haven't tried it my self yet , but I'm sitting on over 13 prestige runs and every single build is still missing a fundamental piece . Like a perfect windraging build and no way to lower the cd on whirlwind 😂

This season if it’s a build that has a lot of “fundamentals” it’s not going to be an easy build to get without farming a lot at endgame. Prestiging for a build in S9 is not an effective way like it was in S8. It’s best to find a build that has few requirements and/or farm tons of marks to make whatever you like function

I'm still trying to figure out how this season works lol. I've had pretty good rng for two of my builds, and my other two have ended up being a dumpster fire by the time I hit 60 and did 100+ rerolls. I feel like unless you have a build that can mostly work with your four slotted and four starter abilities and six talents, it might be best to just use some good generics and let fate decide your build. I actually just prestiged on an alt last night and just slotted mobility, defensive, and escape abilities and talents for pvp. We'll see how it goes!

If you aren't locking your cards then it's not prioritizing you're build when you are getting your levels. My guild has broke the "random" logic of the wild card mode down. The system what's to work with you but you can easily screw yourself over by not re rolling skills that you don't need quickly, because the logic sees you are holding onto a skill or talent and goes "oh they must want this I'll throw my skills that work along those lines at them. "

I thought this was the case but having only had warrior/rogue talents/abilities the game still threw healing legendaries/abilities at me every roll.

So, I’ve always leveled in bg’s.. and my specs are littered with -dmg, reduce stun/silence exc talents. It makes you think.

Crazy too say but PA classless WoW Free Pick , i definitely would recommend too all my RL Friends and Family who used too play wow , but can't because their casual gamer dads with 30 kids and 4 baby momma's 😂 .. i play lots of Turtle WoW for the accomplishment and rewards , PA just throws the best items and gear at yeah , "like Yo ! I didn't even do anything" 😂 but i figure it more based on what a player can come up with .. i mixed a Protection Warrior with a BM Hunter interesting stuff , i don't think i be able too handle the gambling card spells on other PA servers, so i just stick too Area 52 server , into 21 new classes comes out ..

Classless wow. Don't play what you want, play what the "game" what you to. Did you roll away stuff? now your build is dead. Prestige for another 10 times and still not get what you want. How "classless" indeed Going with the flow is all well and good, but been doing that on other wow servers. Kinda expected different from Ascension. Instead fighting the rng makes your build crap and going witht he flow makes you play something you don't have interest in. Not a great way to keep people aorund who want to be creative.
