The main switch did not work with this hack but the key remote button did, just hold for 2/3 seconds and it popped so thank you for video. Why porsche do not have a manual override is beyond me.

I have a 2004 Boxter S and I did exactly what you did, and the hood will no open. Jt is a pretty new battery and I can't figure out why the battery was dead in the fis place since there was nothing left on.Oh ya, and the windows we half way down for some reason.

Oh no 🤔 after hooking up the cable did you try and pressing the hood button on the key?

I removed the driver side wheel and opened the hood. But I encountered a more terrible problem, my car can't recognize my key! This makes it impossible for me to enter the car. I tried to insert the key into the door lock and turn it left and right, but the car didn't respond. When I pressed the key button, the light on it was on, but the car didn't respond and couldn't open the door! Can anyone help me?

Hi My boxster battery is dead and I tried to jump start using another car "head on". The boxster seems to be waking up but when I turned the ignition it flashes "move gear selector to P". Should I wait longer for the battery to charge a little bit more?

Hi! Yes leave the cables on it for a bit to see if it will charge the battery enough to start! How long has the car been sitting? What generation Boxster?

@@Pcarwhisperer Hi thank you for your reply. It was an earlier example of 2019 MY boxster base model, bought in 2018. I left the cable on for 30 mins and did not do the trick. Then I bought a starter battery and will see if it works when it arrives. I don't drive the car often. If the battery is dead for a while, is the damage irreversible?

What happens if you use that portable jump/charger and just try to start the car while it's hooked up to the fuse box terminal and door latch? Can you damage the circuit in the fuse box? Is it safer to always jump from just the battery in the drunk?

If my power bank cable is not long enough, can I ground it on the battery negative side? I do not understand why Porsche put the negative all the way on the other side of the battery.

Hi Mason I got a challenging one for you. I got a 2003 Porsche Boxster and battery dead Tried the jump starter with the fuse connector and seems that the actuator is not responding enough to open the hood, I’ve notice that the hood button worked on and off but didn’t pay much of attention which was warning me that actuator was going out. I removed the plastic covers on both sides of the inside fenders and look for the emergency release cable on both sides of the inner part of the head lights but can’t find it. Is there another way to get the hod open?

Hello, 04 Boxster here, totally dead battery, fuse box over ride not working, I'm using a battery charger and I can hear the latch trying to open . I can open the rear trunk and a light come on. Thoughts???

Hi Geoffrey! Mhmm interesting.... beginning to think the latch may be jammed/seized or no longer actuating to open the front. If this continues not to work may need to pull the driver front wheel liner to access the emergency cable. Be careful when pulling as sometime they will break when you pull. Hope this helps! 👍🏼

Hey Jennifer! The fuse will come out about 3/4 of an inch to be able to get the positive jumper cable on the sides of it. Is the fuse not pulling out?

Well, I could not get it out....so I noticed it pushed back when I was trying to get it out with the fuse puller outer, and all I had was the owners manual, which did ZNOT explain nor have the RIGHT pictures nor reading material, and so I pushed it again on purpose and it went back so well, I thought “this is what I do I push it”. Wrong answer. So then I tried to get it out and it FELL behind and was not even in the place where it should be, and when I pulled the big black fuse out so I could see (which the black fuse fits in upside down? Numbers on the outside are upside down) and I could see the yellow fuse had fallen in back where the fuses are! And of course I live over 100 miles from the nearest Porsche dealership and 30 miles from the closest person I trust to work on her! Help, please?

Or send me an email at [e-mail] as for the fuse coming out out all of the way the orange looking fuse with a car picture on the front should not be coming out all the way it will only come out so far. If the fuse is coming out and has numbers on end of it this is not the right fuse... be carfeul pulling one of these fuses without it putting it in the correct spot could cause the car to not start at all or certain components to not work. The numbers on any of the fuses may be upside down but that is okay as you can put them in either right side up on upside down and they will still work the same way! Send me an email and I will do everything I can to walk you through it :)

Hey jamlee56 thank you for your question! A Targa!!! Targa's are awesome! There is one other way to open the front trunk via the driver side wheel well liner to access an emergency cable. The driver side front wheel needs to be removed and several clips on plastic liner to get access the cable.. pull this cable gently and the front trunk will pop open! May be easier to replace the key battery first! The cable I discuss is used as a last resort when the battery is completely dead!

Thanks Mason. I'm trying to avoid removing the wheel, So I'm waiting to receive a jump starter/power bank with a reverse charging capability - they claim it would start the car 15-20 minutes after it is plugged in the cigarette lighter- . I'll inform you of the result.

Hi again Mason. I'm still waiting to get the jump starter/power bank but in the mean time I left the ctek trickle charger plugged into the cigarette lighter for about four days, to my surprise today the alarm went off when I opened the door so I quickly turned it off and opened the front trunk. now I have a bigger charger to charge the car battery directly.

@@jamlee56 I got scared because the trickle charger was making the hazard light blink and the front lights the yellow was also blinking I unplugged it, but still can not access my battery. The mechanic left the key in the ignition and killed the battery totally now can’t get it open or started

Great! There is a key under the front where the battery is located to take out the center cap and insert the key. To remove or torque a center lock wheel you will need a long torque wrench. I can work on making a video for you 👍🏼
