I’ve been following you for 9 years now, which makes one third of my life on earth. I haven’t missed a single video, I rewatch older videos regularly (and I don’t skip ads haha). Your content never fail to bring joy and comfort, I love that you stay away from any KZbin drama and politics, thank you for everything you are doing for people like me, sending huge thanks to you - Laura & Aaron - as well as Susan, Monica, Ken, Paul and Bethany and of course Benjamin and Samantha Grace who are so cute and the highlight of every video. You guys feel like a family to me. Bret from 🇮🇪

You do such a good job incorporating your sponsor material into your videos that is feels sincere and not like an in your face commercial. There are some channels that I used to follow that I have quit following because they are so annoying and insincere and don't even begin to ring true to the channel content. I'm glad yours blend right in with your regular content so you barely notice that they are a "commercial".

The tag has great information. But Laura always gets into the details about cutting them back. I would have never known if it was not for her telling us. I always think oh so drastic. But she makes it seem like its a great thing for the plant. You do not get that information from a tag! Yes I agree about his idea lol :)

Oh my 2 am! I can barely make it until 9pm. If I sit down, I'm done. I wake up at 4am even though my alarm is set for 5am. We are self employed as well so bravo to you both for doing what you love and provide us all with amazing content to enjoy and learn from! Love watching! Btw, those hoses do hold up quite well outside. I used it in a red quartz rock bed and drug it all over. Got two years of good life out of that house with no leaks. You can find them at any box store as well.

I love Aaron's idea of making a video about how far to cut back plants. I'm scared to cut back any of my plants because I have no idea if you do that to all perennials or just some and how far to cut them back. I was cutting my roses back so low that they would only grow a foot tall and now I'm hesitant too touch them.

On the expanding fabric hose ... You can use them outside. They work great. All you need to make sure you do is not leave if full of water and store it properly in the winter. I have had mine for over 5 yrs and love them. I'm zone 5b and have zero issues pulling them around my front and backyard. Just like anything else if you take care of it properly it will last.

My daffodils have already come up and finished blooming. We have had unusual cool wet weather here in California and it was definitely too early for them to do that. I have already started some seeds inside only because I’ve been watching you do the same Laura. Every year I say I’m going to hold back on how much I seed and plant and every year I end up doing more 😂 I just can’t help myself. It’s usually in the middle of summer that I say this but by spring I’m ready to get out there and garden! Also, I always see your video pop up for me. I can’t say the same for every channel I follow.

Laura - I can speak to the fabric hose because I had one last year, and you're right, it was a dream to use. So light and flexible, I loved it! But you are also right about not using it outside because it's just not sturdy enough to take the beating it gets dragging it around. Dang it. I'd love to get a Hoselink but I need a longer hose to get around the house to water. So, yeah, I drag hoses too.

I keep a five gallon bucke with a lid under the faucet and put the hose in it. I have 3 faucets on house, so I don't have to drag hoses too far. I can reach all points on my acre lot with a hose. I would not like to go back to a regular hose ever!

I use the fabric hoses outside on my patio, in my greenhouse, etc… because it’s just so nice to be able to tuck it away. It does spring holes at least once a year and I don’t even care. It’s fairly inexpensive but it’s so worth it to me. You just have to know that going in or you won’t be happy with it.

Hello, Sun Valley, CA here 😊 Love your videos!! I purchased that hose almost about 2yrs ago. It was like my 4th purchase of hoses and finally found that one and love it!! It’s light and doesn’t get tangled like traditional rubber ones. I have a cemented front yard w raised planting beds and I have potted plants around too. It has done quite well w our hot weather here. It stays out all day everyday with only couple hours of filtered shade. Do be very careful if you have any Cati 😮 I have a medium size one and didn’t realize I came too close to it and it punctured it lol. I’ll have to purchase another soon because that lil leak always seems to get me 😅 💧 Take care of your lovely family ❤ 👋 🌻

I love the expandable hoses, I have five of then, One on each of my outside faucets. I keep them either in the shade or covered from the harsh sun when not in use and they stay connected to the faucets all summer. I bring them in in the winter. They work great for me outside and so much easier to drag around. I have found that pulling them over rocks and concrete doesn't really effect them that much. What snags them is a sharp barb kind of thing that is sometimes on the edge of a concrete edging or paver. They have come a long way since the first ones that came out. I don't think you get the pressure from them like you get from a regular hose but for most that I do is watering flower beds they are great.

I have been putting half a mosquito dunk, into a piece of old stocking, rubber banding the top together and just leaving it in my inside watering can. Seems to have helped with those annoying gnats. That is the Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis, or BTI. that you need for the fungus gnats. When I noticed after a few months more gnats, I simply added another half dunk inside another piece of stocking to my watering can. Seems far less messy than the bits.

I use the expandable hoses outside because I have chronic back pain. I have had back surgery, but heavy hoses can cause my pain to flare up. I do replace them often, especially because rose thorns pierce them. They can be a safety hazard outside. Last year we had a really hot summer here in Indiana. On a 90 degree day I needed to use my hose. I forgot to empty the water out of the hose the day before, so when I turned the spigot on the hose tore from the pressure and sprayed me in the face with burning hot water. If you use them outside never leave it in the hot afternoon sun for safety reasons. Learn from my mistake. This would for sure happen to you with your 100 degree summers.

I love your video’s. I’m listening to you talk about your wonderful soft “garden” hose. I have had one on the front of my house that I water all my plants in the front and side of my yard. My first one lasted ALMOST 3 years. It is the best thing ever! I don’t have to drag it across gravel, just my drive way to get my planters. My house faces North, North-West. So it’s protected from the blazing heat. I was socked it lasted so long. I live in Northern Utah (just outside of Salt Lake City), very similar conditions as you live in. Everyday I’m looking forward to the weather and temperatures you have had, because I know it’s on it’s way to me. I just thought I’d pop in to mention the hose. It’s definitely a must have for me.

Good morning, Laura & Aaron ☕️ Another great recap. I too thought something was up when your videos usually start at 7:00 and lately, they’ve been a few minutes after.

The lighter hoses are a must, I’ve been using them for years out side, the more expensive ones do last 3+ years and make daily watering much less taxing. I leave them pushed up against beds and as the flowers spread they are hardly noticeable.

About heat mats and plastic seed starting trays: some plastic will off-gas when heated. I picked up a few little trays from the dollar store to germinate some seeds last year and the chemical stench was pretty horrible.

I use the pocket hose outside every year. I do have to buy once a year, the hundred footer, but it is so worth it. I don't think I'd ever go back to the regular garden hose. I store it in the shade and it works great.

I drain mine and store them in a bucket with a lid after each use. I've found they last much longer. I do enjoy them so much more than the heavy regular kind. I don't dread watering with them. My grandson, when young, called them "pull back hoses."

The distinction between how KZbin is treating your garden answer highlights channel and the main channel is definite. Now that you’re doing Garden answer highlights every Saturday Sunday the notification shows up at the very top in the “important” category on my phone. i still get a notification for your main channel though. when I watch on the laptop garden answer highlights videos will always show up in that top list of recommendations and despite watching your main show every single day, I never see Garden answer there. It seems like they know for sure that I’m going to go find you one way or the other, so why push you to the top? Where as with your newer channel they’re giving you extra exposure. don’t worry typing GAR into the search bar is enough to bring up what I’m looking for! Not too much effort for me. you’re worth it.

14:17 You know, wish I had seen this before. I bought a few of these, 2 at a garden show, one online. But I used them as outdoor hose. Now I know. 🥰. But as they lasted, I did love them.

Aaron, if you do don't like beer or wine, you 100% don't have to drink socially. People always seem to think that alcohol is needed for fun. It is not. If you think it's a waste of money, for you it is. You do what works for you and your family.

I've used those Amazon fabric hoses for a few years now outdoors and they hold up fine! You have to make sure to let all of the water out when you turn it off, or it can burst a seam. That's the only way I've killed one!

I watch your video every morning unless you notify us saying that you are taking time off. I didn't know Benjamin was in school. My nephews go to a private school. In kindergarten, they have to write in cursive. My grandson is in the 5th grade, and he is still printing his words. It blows my mind. I worked as a TA for 13 years in kindergarten. When I see kids write their names all in capital letters, I start sweating. We finally sent out papers showing Pre-K teachers how we teach kids how to write their names correctly. Oh man, I really am going to miss your antique shopping trips. You guys are so funny when you get together. I'm still waiting to see the video of you and your dad. I think he would be a hoot to interview.

I grew up with a retail greenhouse business and I can’t remember that there ever was a gnat problem. One thing is we had big circulating fans if I remember right .And talking about a late spring , we had 18 degrees this morning! And my poor daffodils in full bloom were laying flat , surprisingly when the sun warmed things up they stood up again ! Central Mo.

Aarons idea for cut height is a good candidate for a Reel! It would be a bit snippy perhaps as a video but perfect for short-form content 😊

You are right about the flexible hose being used outdoors, it won't last more than one year. I've had to replace them every year. They are super light and easy to use, but be ready to replace then often.
