Nice build! I'm an 01 owner also. Currently on a 97 non vvti shortblock, studs and refreshed head. Waiting to do turbo until I can find a jumper and a haltech. Our year is a pain in the ass 🥴

In my opinion 418 is still a ton of power. Totally agree your decision of stopping further modification to the car, your car will probably last much longer now than if you have 500+hp. My questions are: 1. How is the auto tranny performing at 418hp? 2. Do you think Elite 2500 is worth the extra 600$ than Elite 2000? 3. Do you think 225mm wide rear tires are adequate to handle 418hp with stock Torsen LSD? Thank you for making these videos, your current setup is my ultimate goal ;)

Thanks! Like I said I wanted 500hp, but after driving it, it does drive great. Tranny holds up great with the mods explained. I think the elite 2500 is worth it, never have to buy another ECU, if I ever decide to go crazier, I have the ECU to back it. The 255 wide tire is not enough for the power, I will mess with tires down the road. Like I said I will leave it alone.

i think you should get black rpf1s same tire setup with a tiny bit more offset

i would avoid putting gauges on the a pillar because of the curtain side air bag

I have one of these. I put the battery behind passenger seat I've destroyed 2 r154s I've destroyed 2 factory diffs Replaced side fed with top fed injectors Been working on Toyota engines long enough to know. Internals are usually standard on all engines. It's interesting to see how we both solved problems only took different routes. I'd love to hear your ideas as to how to rewire and such .

I’m pretty sure your catch can needs to be connected to your turbo intake to suck valve cover pressure , would recommend a 3 port catch can and connect the pcv valve to it, drawing air from the turbo
@davisweyant39083 жыл бұрын
I’ll have to look into that, thanks

Love your videos. Thank you for all the information you have provided for this build. If it's not too much trouble could you provide the information on the short block? Part # and price please?
@SofiaSclafani3 жыл бұрын
You don't necessarily need the gte block to hold the power, you can get away with the ge non vvti block and it can hold the power like the gte as it has the same rod as the gte, or if you don't want to go that route then you can rebuilt your stock block with a piston and rod from the gte or non vvti ge.
@davisweyant39083 жыл бұрын
You are correct. I got a deal on a brand new GTE which is why I went this route. I still have my stock block that I plan on building for another car. I cracked 3 pistons on my old motor, which is why I put the GTE in.

do you get trouble for not having front plates in oregon? also what are your rim sizes? looks good
@davisweyant39083 жыл бұрын
Thanks! 17x8 38+ offset Lamarai Wheels, Lexus use to carry them at dealers back in the day. Yes 100% suppose to have plates in Oregon an Washington, never gotten pulled over yet 🤞

Great videos! Already order the gte short block. What is the terminal adapter you used, it looks clean with the battery relocation.
@davisweyant39083 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Everything I got for the battery relocation was on Amazon besides the battery. Still wasn’t cheap, but holds up great.

Would you recommend rebuilding the ge motor
@davisweyant39083 жыл бұрын
Rebuilding a stock GE is not worth it in my opinion. Now rebuilding the GE motor with GTE pistons and rods is a different story. Upgrading internal parts will help you in the long run depending on your power goals.
@castcool3213 жыл бұрын
@@davisweyant3908 yes that’s what i meant by rebuilding it. Thanks though 👌🏾
