I was 13 when this hit, I had to sneak and hear it when my parents were working, no personal devices other than a turntable bk then mostly, their thinking was this was grown folk music, they didn’t understand that I didn’t really hear lyrics bk then, the groove /sound of the music was what I wanted to hear,, and I think I loved every song on the album, it was like a black opera in my mind,,🎉❤

Nobody can hold on to a groove the way Issac Hayes does. When the groove grabs a hold of him, Isaac really does have a hard time letting go. One thing about it, when his musical groove finishes with you, you will be satisfied--I guarantee it.

I was a South African teen in the 70s living in the township , then, I never knew of this genius! Only recently I’m hooked on Isaac Hayes s music - and I ask myself how come i never heard of him - if he was in this world I would certainly attend his concerts- I’m in love with specific tracks I.e. “Come live with Me” , “ Bg the time I get to Phoenix “ and I can’t stop listening to his duet with Dionne Warwick from album Man and a Woman
