I viewed a great documentary on Isaac Mizrahi, saw his television show where he designed on the spot for people in the audience, and I saw him doing short spots here and there. Isaac, I just adore you. I have never watched you that I didn't have a smile on my face the whole time. Your own clothes, your great style, and outspoken opinions are just fabulous. You are soooo New York. When you say something outlandish, it would be just what I was thinking but never said. I am sure that many more people than I have that response to your ideas and reactions about people and things happening to you and around you. I'm so happy for your having a show at the Jewish Museum. Found the preview video on KZbin of Jewish Museum Exhibition: Search: "Isaac Mizrahi- An Unruly Story: Designer honored with NYC museum exhibition". Now that I am streaming KZbin to my t.v. Like, you getting a septum piercing isn't shocking or cool if literally everyone else has one. You getting an infinity/anchor/turtle tattoo isn't "fashion" because everyone else has one. At 4:38 I had to pause, like this video and say: "Sorry, Isaac Mizrahi (your name is awesome, by the way) but I am a man who is doing beard and long hair (and, consequently, since I am currently an apprentice mechanic, The Man Bun) for life. My dad did it, my entire life so far, so for me (and my older brother) it is just a part of Masculinity (and just what a good, loving, awesome man looks like) in physical manifestation. But then, I am not someone interested in trying to be fashionable, just a guy seeking and striving to be Human and needing to feel comfortable in my own skin. Thus, for me, hair styles, clothing styles, etc are irrelevant so long as you can feel that they reflect your Self and they don't actually harm other people (or, preferably other living things generally [but God damn do I love my leather boots...]). I WILL say, however, that I really like his button-down, long sleeve, collarless shirt a LOT. I hope to have the skills and time necessary to make my own clothes later in life, cuz, I'm here, so why not wear clothes that reflect my Self. I feel like I would be very delighted and perhaps honored to get to talk about that with Mr. Mizrahi over a beer. Probably never gonna happen, but might as well dream big hahah ;-)
