I don't understand how the ACA is constitutional. How can you force someone to get health insurance. Not that long ago the government was paying people to take their families and belongings on a treacherous journey in a wagon and take a plot if land to settle. Now if you drive your car a little to fast or don't strap up your seatbelt it costs you an obscene amount of money. Didn't know I was paying for a babysitter with my taxes.

+MrMustacrackish Ever hear the saying "Your right to swing your arm ends at my nose"? You live in a society, which means that everyone's rights have to be balanced out. I might want to smear feces all over your possessions, but the law forbids it because your rights matter as much as mine. Which is why speeding is illegal -- you don't have the right to smash up my car and end my life just because you feel like driving fast. Similarly, you don't get to opt out of a nationwide program if your opt-out costs every other taxpayer, which is what happens when people are uninsured. I think you're smart enough to know all of this but maybe just felt like trolling. And if you don't understand these basic concepts of civic responsibility, then please get an education.

Yeah those laws were totally put in place because your government cares about your safety and well being. How about a free educated adult makes his/her own decision about what speed to drive their own car, what food goes in their own body, and whether or not to buy insurance. You owe somebody money just for being a human now and thats disgusting

Food,&shelter aka social security, education, healthcare and social connection and meaning make a happy, productive and creative people. A welfare state/country. This is the base we should build for all, the rest is individual greed and privilege F%#king up the system. making depressed, anxious, angry, fearful, stressed out pill popping suffering or for some the Utopia of the Elites (mostly in the west fk the rest). Why not Utopia for all? We as a species have never gotten over this dilemma, the few who always Fck up the system come always. And they rule by owning. This doesn't have to lead what you North-Americans so fear, communism. There never really has been a real communism and it seems like capitalism works just as badly, the ruin just feels nicer. Like being a heroin addict. It's in no way more civilized, famine, war, disease and death are still caused by the people to other people more than ever. There are more slaves than ever before in the history and instead of building say Pyramids, we choose, all of us, continuously to destroy the planet that gives us life. Like a heroin addict.
