To Bro. Nazam, SalamunAlaykum. I am tony G and had to change my handle due to You Tube's New Handle rules. This subject is not as simple as Bro. Shabir makes it seem. Actually there are more Biblical Verses that need to be considered. The Bible also acknowledges that Ismael was the Son that Abraham attempts to Sacrifice. These are rather far more subtle than what is apparently stated, that Isaac is that Son. The most revealing of this view comes from Paul. Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Paul Clearly states that the "TWO COVENANTS" are an Allegory of AGAR. AND that they are Gendered or Connected to Moses and the Mount Sinai/Turi Sina where Moses spoke to Allah, and Received the Torah. This is Very Significant because it seems that Paul is introducing something that is Strange to the Israelites, BUT in actuality this is just another Thread of Belief among the Israelites that was not that popular BUT was still very prevalent. This may also be one of the reasons that Paul and the Disciples may have been at odds. Salam.

To continue with the "Sacrifice" that Ibrahim AS intended to do. I don't think the WHO is as important as The Intention of Ibrahim AS. If it WAS important then Allah AwJ would have Surely made it clear. So what is The Moral of the Story? Most likely Abraham, He SAW that other people and communities were Sacrificing their First Born to God. And he most likely THOUGHT to Himself "Had a Dream", meaning He Visualized Himself also Sacrificing His First Born to God. Didn't He Love GOD more than Anything? Didn't He hold GOD in the Highest Esteem? Did these Pagans/Mushriks Love their God MORE than Him? Was He NOT able to show the Love for His God as much as these Pagans were doing? Most likely He Needed to PROVE to Himself and Allah AwJ that He was able to Sacrifice what He held most Precious to Himself for God. And He decided that He will do just that! And His first born most likely Ismail AS said to His Father; Do what you think is Right. But Alhamdulillah Allah AwJ Intervened and said to Ibrahim AS; You were True to your Dream/Thinking/Faith and Just by your attempt, Proved that You Loved ME more than Anything Else! and then substituted a Ram as an alternative and a prohibition of Human Sacrifice that people were doing! This was NOT done as Christians claim as an offering for SIN or an eventual Prophecy for the forgiveness of Sins by Jesus/Isa AS. This can also be substantiated against Christians by; Psa 40:6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require. Psa 51:16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. Hos 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the KNOWLEDGE of God more than burnt offerings. Mat 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mat 12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. Now each Verse may need an explanation But you can see that GOD/Allah AwJ would RATHER people stayed away from that which He prohibited, instead of being disobedient. AND Sacrifices are meant for the Same Thing in Islam. What is that? IT is for SHOWING that each individual is TRULY Repentant. Anyone can say they are sorry very easily and even Mean it. But to Prove or Show that they are Repentant/making Tawbah is by doing something Good afterward. ANY Sacrifice that one can do has it's value in the Worth and Intention of that Sacrifice. Regardless of whether it is an animal Sacrifice or money or a helping hand, depending on ones ability. Salam.
