Born and raised in New England. Went to my friend's campus apartment for the game the year after I graduated. At halftime I remember thinking, "Well, this is over. Time to just drink all my beer." Next thing I remember about the night is running out into the streets celebrating. I've had to go back and rewatch the second half to understand what happened.

"What was it like to be a Falcons fan?" I imagine it's what drowning must feel like. One minute you're having fun with your friends, then you realize, almost without noticing, that you've been swept out to deep water. You try to swim back, to stay above the rising tide. You fight, but your body is sick and tired of fighting. You gasp for air, but you don't catch your breath, it just makes everything worse. Then this little realization hits that you're not going to make it through this, and it all starts to become fuzzy as you accept your fate. For context, Georgia sports was in a 20 something year title drought since the defending champion Atlanta Braves lost the World Series in 1996, but the next 5 year stretch was probably the hardest. Every team just kept falling short. The Georgia Bulldogs went on to lose the National Championship game in 2017 in a similarly heartbreaking fashion (please don't make any content on 2nd and 26), and the conference championship in 2018 after holding a lead or being tied for 59 of 60 minutes of that game. Likewise, the Braves got bounced from the playoffs three years in a row from 2018-2020. They missed the World Series by one game in 2020. Everything changed in 2021, for both the Braves and Bulldogs, and our soccer team won the MLS Cup somewhere in all of that, which has made this game a little less upsetting to remember. But until the Falcons themselves exercise this demon, even now, nearly a decade later, people still just can't help but talk about "the Biggest Meltdown in Super Bowl History."

As a Carolina Panthers fan, I loved nothing more than watching the Falcons fall apart. Eff the Falcons. It sucked having to actually be happy that Tom Brady won (I will never forget the 2003 season...) but seeing Matty Ice lose was even nicer. Thanks for making another great video -- always nice to have a fellow UNC Pembroke alum ALSO be an awesome KZbinr with great football content. Keep it up!

This was my first superbowl that I actually payed attention to. Such an exciting game to watch, I'm a chargers fan so I has no stakes in this game, this game practically ruined all other superbowls for me because no other superbowl (save for the 2017's eagles win over the pats) could even come close to how investing this game was (in the 2nd half)

One of a few mystery endings to a Brady/New England Championship Game (i.e. see kicker John Kasay; Carolina Panthers). Interesting!
