@jasminjaeger4 жыл бұрын
You don't actually get sick only through the cold (I am a medical assistant). The physical body is just more attackable by bacteria etc. when getting too cold, that means it needs a lot of energy to produce more warmth and the immune system shuts down a bit as the main focus is on maintaining the body temperature. Wim Hof, also called "the iceman", is using cold therapy combined with breathing to increase overall health, heal the body, and so much more. There are lots of reports from people who healed chronic diseases with the help of that method. Even physical evidence through studies exists. Check it out and you might be surprised what is possible through the cold 🙏

I'm really enjoying your sharing; it reminds me a lot of similar things I've done in the forests of Big Sur and mountains of Colorado. If you get cold, it may be due to inadequate footwear, sox, or relying on coffee instead of eating enough calories before heading out. Going out early in the morning during winter in the mountains may also require long johns, or snow pants; the latter just zip over your pants, and can be removed after things warm up. Lots of skiers use them on the slopes as well. In really cold weather, a pair of double boots is invaluable (they have a separate insulating inner-boot). Also, a down jacket may not be enough without the above additions; you may also need a fleece layer on top or underneath. A fleece vest under a down jacket is a good combination, and can be removed if you get too warm. Usually, by afternoon, single layers of clothing suffice. Hope this helps.

She clearly was raised to prioritize the beauty of nature, hard work, etc. She’s someone who doesn’t mind not taking the route of modern conveniences. I had my wonder filled moments but I was raised as a city girl and so somethings/habits are too deeply woven into me. I accepted this fact. I wish I could have experienced my time out there on the mountain like she did. Her perspective of what she is experiencing is awe inspiring. This is how we should feel about our lives no matter where we live. This is more of a spiritual achievement than mere outcome of geographical location. Bravo Isabel.

You should set up a tarp (or even make a little shelter) to house your car. It would keep it in slightly better shape and save you some time in the morning!!..

Hi Isabel Your point about the feeling of accomplishment really resonated with me. I live in Denmark and right after High School i studied law at university for 5 years and worked as a lawyer for 4 years afterwards. I have in all that time enjoyed in my scarse sparetime to do some kind of physical work, where I can actually psysically see the result. Now I live on a farm with horses, dogs and cats. And I love doing physical projects outside my 9-5 job. It makes me feel sooo accomplished and happy. I really enjoy your videoes and look forward to see more. Really inspiring. Best wishes! ☺️

2020 has been the best and the worst year for me emotionally Worst part: I suffered a traumatic heartbreak ,😥 and when I couldn't breath , your videos helped me through. Best part : I found your channel☀ now I truly believe that nothing is without purpose, because I never would have appreciated these calm healing videos had I not suffered that trauma and I probably wouldn't switch up my channel to a more peaceful space. I am indeed grateful for all that happened because it led me here to a journey of self healing, accepting myself and seeing the beauty in my rural life even more ☀🌿. Thank you Isabel

Insulate your plumbing. As for drinking water from the river you risk getting cryptosporidium or giardiasis if you don’t purify it first.

The risk of crypto and beaver fever turns out to be rather overblown. It's not terribly common in the backcountry and up in the mountains. A course of metronidazole clears giardiasis up pretty fast

@@cameronbuttigieg9060 I think we’re talking about 2 different things... I’m talking about getting sick from drinking unpurified drinking water and you’re talking about vaginal infections.

Which model of loom do you have?? I spin and knit, and my mother was a weaver when she was younger. I would love to start weaving someday.

I've been watching your videos for a couple of days now and I subscribed when I saw you weaving. I was impressed before, but now I'm really impressed. As someone who also wants to embrace the art of weaving, I applaud you for learning a rare skill and setting forth to create beautiful pieces. Like many have already stated, you are an inspiration to people of all ages. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

I once went to a talk about palmistry, its a scientific approach to pam reading. They said that our nervous system leaves a print on our hands and it's possible to find out about a person by reading their palm. Then I had a private consultation with that guy and he told me that my palm is an Earth-type palm. And for people with these palms, the joy and satisfaction from life come from doing physical work and seeing the result of their work by the end of their day. What you've said really echoed that. You must be an Earth-type too. For us the word by which we can be described is 'endurance' and the best advice is to do something every day that we can SEE as progress. That's why you built your own house with your hands, and that's why I live on a boat and do a lot of manual work to sustain my everyday life.
