While the view that Israel is the "suffering servant" sees the nation’s suffering as a vicarious atonement for others, there are challenges with this interpretation, especially considering the singular, personal language of Isaiah 53 and the concept of intentional, voluntary sacrifice. The messianic interpretation understands the passage as pointing to a specific individual who willingly bears the sins of many, seen as fulfilled in Yeshua.

Amen , Isaiah 41- Israel is the Servant but the Israel is in Exile . But there's an another servant in Isaiah 42 - the Servant is Righteous and he's light to the nations . Isaiah 49- He fails in his mission to regather Israel Isaiah 50- the same servant is suffers brutal treatment for the Obidience of God . Isaiah 52:13- 53:12 - the servant is higly exalted will suffered terribly and rejected by his own people and he will be the sacrifice for the sins of the people . If it's not Jesus . Who is Israel's own people rejected Israel ? Who's Israel's own people?🤷🏻♂️ Is israel Righteous? Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous,no one who does what is right and never sins. (Ecclesiastes 7:20) This verse say no one is Righteous on the earth . How it refers to israel as righteous ? As there's no one righteous in the world . It should refers to the God (because he's the only one who's righteous ) . It refers to Jesus alone. Yeshua Hamoshiach ❤️

Yup-hameshiach is Yeshua. If the suffering servant is Israel, and the servant is righteous and without sin, and the stripes and beatings the servant receives will heal those issuing the affliction, then why do we learn in Jeremiah 30 that God says Israel is NOT guiltless and that He will destroy the nations who afflicted Israel? 1 Peter 2:22-24 makes it clear-Yeshua is the suffering servant! No sin, no deceit in His mouth! All who have ears to hear, now to the mighty melech, king! Hoshia-na! Baruch ha-ba b’shem Yeshua! Blessed, is He who comes in the name of Yeshua!!

And which Israelite or Israelites have been a greater light to the nation's than Jesus Christ?
@mikeyant24453 жыл бұрын
Jesus Christ is the Subject of Isaiah 53. The second half of Isaiah portrays Israel as the failed Servant of Jehovah. Some of the harshest criticisms of Israel's wickedness in the Bible is found in Isaiah. Against that, is another Servant Who is righteous enough to bear the sins of the world.He is called Israel, and yet is seen as being distinct from Israel, and alongside Israel. His worldwide effect is marked by being the light of the Gentiles, bringing Jehovah's salvation to the ends of the world, bringing many to righteousness, bringing healing to the nations, being an astonishment to the Gentiles for His suffering for our sins. This is describing, not the general righteous of Israel, but One, the most righteous of Israel, King Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth. None of these worldwide effects can be attributed to the general righteous of Israel. Yet they happened, and are still happening. Jesus healed me, and is healing me of my wickedness to this day. He has and is healing millions around the world.

Yes, but on Isaiah 49, we should note that Paul (in Acts 13:47 and Corinthians 6:2) applies this servant to the church, which is an extension (ie. the body) of the Messiah. So, although the servant in Isaiah 49:4 says he has "laboured in vain" - it might be a reference to the temporary rejection the Messiah by those that should have followed him from the outset. So God tells him in verse 6 that his mission will also include being a "light to the Gentiles".

Asking whether Jesus or another identity is the servant of Isaiah 53, is like asking whether Hosea 11:1 refers to Jesus OR Israel and you must choose one or the other. Matthew 2:15 shows us that this kind of thinking is a mistake. The same thing occurs with 2 Samuel 7:14. It is a mistake to ask whether this refers to Solomon or Jesus. The Hebrews writer tells us plainly it refers to Jesus. But the Scriptures also tell us it refers to Solomon.

Seriously? Being "the messiah" or "a messiah" in a noun poor language means nothing to you and your reading of that? What about the fact the kind of Messiah were talking about needs to be of the line of David and Cyrus was a Persian (gentile). Even from a Jewish perspective calling him "the messiah" in this day and age shows your lack of understanding of what's going on. Like after 2000 years it took a youtube viewer to finally lay it out like they never seen the words before. Solved all right.
