Water in large, cast cases is pretty common in larger, older tractors. The large cast housings over the years of heating in the summer and cooling in the winter causes condensation to collect in the housings. Over the years it accumulates into what you found, a lot of water that will freeze. Normally just replacing the gear oil and inspecting the bearings and seals will bring them back. Great video Norman.. really enjoy these. Thanks for doing them.!

Man. My 4040's charging system just died. I decided that repowering was easier\more in my skillset than rewinding the stator. But I, too, needed to replace my drop box's bearing like yours. Redoing the axle bearings(br6 set) and seal(skf 15142) whilst I have it apart.

Any recommendations for Performance Parts for a Kohler Magnum MV18S Opposed Twin Flathead? I'm looking for Valve Springs and Larger Intake Valves... Any recommendations for a better flowing Intake Manifold? You are a TRACTOR GOD! (Not literally) -Thomas (12) Port Orchard, Washington
@Isavetractors5 жыл бұрын
You could machine your jugs to take on V8 valves and uses heavier springs. You could also port your manifolds and blocks for better flow. You could also deck your heads and use bigger pistons. Performance enhancing is beyond my specialty, but those are some of the basics you could do.

@Isavetractors4 жыл бұрын
Oh you mean after I wind it. You can still just ohm it out. I was running the engine for completeness for the video. But if you were to test it to make sure you did it right just ohm test the two outputs then ohm each output to ground to make sure none of the wires are grounded
