I wonder Sam, this may sound naive, but does the videoing of this engine take apart , take much longer when you have to film it ? theres a lot of screws again to remove , it must be tedious sometimes to have to set aside a certain amount of time to film these . Thats why I appreciate the time you take .

Making videos always slows things down! :) It's the hardest part of trying to get things done but also produce a video on it. I'd say the video process at least doubles the actual work time, then you have to add on editing time afterwards. It's def. not a "smart thing" from a time investment standpoint unless you factor in possible revenue from the videos long-term. But even then it's hit-and-miss. Some videos take off, most just get initial views and never grow. It's why my #1 advice to anyone who wants to "try KZbin" is to enjoy the process of creating a video just for the process and not dream or count on any money from it. :)

Unless you get a good offer for that tractor, I would think it's value would be in Elijah having experience using a tractor. He's showing he's got a good work ethic, so maybe this would be a good reward for helping out. And I'm sure there will be plenty of projects where he could use it.

Little boys learn from the big men in their lives. His enthusiasm is admirable. I hope he carries it to adulthood. I vote you give him chores that he can do with the tractor and charge him a few "hours" worth of work!

I love how you guys are able to turn chores, remodeling, maintenance, landscaping, etc into educational opportunities for your children. That's the beautiful joy of parenting quite honestly, being able to teach your children life skills and for them to be completely engaged in the lesson without them necessarily realizing at the moment that they're learning valuable life long skills. Bravo to all of you...Also, keep the cadet for Elijah to hone his landscaping & mechanical skills. You could create an entire new lesson on financing, interest rates & hourly wages, etc for him.

I love this tractor! I love that you work together with your wife and your sons on it! What i love most is that you give it to the loving hands of your son! Now he can start his own career as gardener or snow plower! To give it to him will pay back in the future and is more worth than a few bucks! He will help you more and more with that little international! 😀👍🏻

Cant believe I actually sat Here and watched the whole thing When I knew I have a Cub Cadet 123 needing my attention. I found the whole thing with the children helping a real good thing. Wishing That My Children were more like them. A real all American family doing things together away from the whole kids thing that would rather be playing video games. Yea. Just Wished that My children would want to learn something that would most definitely benefit them in the future. I could tell they been helping work on things for sometime now. Took real notice of the way Elijah corrected himself of the 1/2 socket and wrench thing. lol. Good Job Everyone.

I recognized that Cub Cadet immediately. We had one that we worked on a lot, in it's end days, that my Dad bought many years ago, at least 50 years, and finally gave up getting parts and needed too much...but we sold it right away to some dude who thought he had made a great find...which he probably did, although my son is a mechanic and finally gave up on repairs. SO, I don't know, but think I would hang on to that Cub Cadet for a while longer. By the way, our new tractor/mower is a cub cadet and we expect to have it the rest of our lives.

Very strong little tractors Sam. I recently gave a Cub Cadet 123 to a coworker. It ran fine, just always had trouble with the starterator/genenator. Mine had the same exact 12 HP Kohler engine and hydrostat tranny. If you could get traction, it would pull just about anything you hooked to it. I bet it too was an early 60's model. As I'm a 1962 model LoL. Great project for you and Elijah.

Change the oil, wash it etc. I think you could put a small dump bucket on the back and have him gather old stuff your not using from the property. It looks like it’s time for a big yard clean up and organize before fall and winter comes. Tractor looks great. Maybe a lean two for all the equipment you have it keep it all in good condition.
