Great review, I also have been using an icharger 206b for some time and picked myself up Q6 plus for dirt cheap. Was wondering if I should sell the icharger and use the Q6 or keep both

I just received 2 of these chargers today. One works perfectly, and the other one has a wonky scroll wheel like yours. So frustrating!

All right there friend thanks for getting back to me i think its working ok but now i keep geting a worning massage that i have a bad connection and it just cant be broken i need it so bad lol i think the fan only comes on when u discharge a battery thanks for youe help .

Sure, as long as you chose one that can sustain the amp draw there's no reason why not. I have a laptop powerbrick I converted that does just fine.

+maynardo personally I prefer the dial on the 150 so as long as it meets your charging requirements wattage wise, then that's the one.

If it is DC, yes, but the amps are also a major factor. Printer power supplies are not that powerful. A laptop adapter like NJ Tech uses could be 6 times better at only 18volts. I looked up 32volt printer adapters and saw that some are only 625ma or 0.6amps when a laptop adapter has 3.65amps and up. We now have a new use for old laptop adapters when the tip fails. :) 12V car or bike battery can be even better.

the best way to check is do a max amp discharge (i think that's about 2 amps on this). These units can only actually discharge using heat so the fan some on to keep it cool. If that doesn't work return the unit.

Great video, very helpful ,Please correct me if i'm wrong : I ordered the same ISDT Q6 Plus 300W. Now i am going to use it with a PC Power supply that says "max total output 250W" now i guess this 250W is combining all different voltages as a PC power supply has 3.3v/12A - 5v/12A - 12v/14A , so from the 12v source i can go up to 14A which is 168W, so i have to set up my ISDT Q6 to max input power to 168W max right ? so that i dont burn my power supply down ? (i also plan on doing some parallel charging)

unfortunately these things are never as clean in the math conversions as that because you also have the losses through DC charging (ie heat and resistance). Also, if for instance you are charging a 4S pack then you are taking a 12V input source to charge a 14.8v output so the input will current will be higher still. It all depends on what you're charging at the end of the day but in short, yes that should be absolutely fine. I use a 12v/200 watt PSU and can parallel charge 4X 4S packs comfortably at a fairly high charge rate without making the input sweat.

While charging can the ending volts be changed , I know most chargers end at 4.20 volts I would like to have a little bit less.And will it charge a single cell battery

You certainly can change the end voltage to be lower, i dont know why you would want to do this whilst charging though? Set before the charge is easier. You can select 1S charing on a lipo too no problem.

yes. As long as the input is DC you can use an ACDC adapter. I use an old 18V laptop adapter which works well.

it does indeed and the balancing is very good, as good as my much more expensive chargers actually.

how good is it at balancing? i have two skyrc imax chargers when the voltage different is 0.05 or more the cells would not balance. they will end up at 4.20v and 4.15v. anything less they will balance.

Jack Truong rest assured it's very good at balancing. I'm very impressed with the quality of these chargers. but also bear in mind cells increase their internal restance as they get old. if the battery is old and won't balance it's probably a bad cell. You can look at the internal resistance on this charger to verify that towards the end of the charge

Does this charger boost? E.g. Could I charge a 4S using a 12v supply?

All chargers do generally, but at the cost of drawing more amps from the power source. So if you use a 12V input make sure its rated to handle higher amps. For instance 12V 500mah output PSU would quickly throttle your maximum charge rate on a 4S. The charger would sense the voltage drop on the input and halt the charge.

Looking at trying some 4S packs with my mini quad - only ever used 3S in the past so don't know whether my old Bantam BC6-10 will boost or not; couldn't find any documentation to say it would! This looks nice might get one as a second charger.

I cant believe ISDT is stupid and did not put logging features into their charger. They must be real idiots, since every competitor has it, iMax B6, Reaktor, Antimatter, iCharger. Can you recommend alternative to ISDT charger but with logging (not the ones mentioned above)?
