Yes I agree! Love the tutorial but how did you do the stitching to finish
@seangrimes99862 жыл бұрын
@@libertyyounger4720 Totally agree! I’m just getting started on quilting and it seems the majority of the videos just concentrate on the top. Which is great but my biggest problem is going from that to the actual finished quilt..

Creators, in general, don't provide us with details. They all have their own reasons from wanting to freely create their art (and us, too) to wanting us to watch their other videos. They also tend to worry that we will become bored if they repeat the same processes on each video. I used to say I was self-taught. Now, I can't say that because at least a third of my knowledge comes from watching KZbin videos now. There is a search option on KZbin and on Google. You can also click on the channel name or picture to get to their playlists to see if what you are looking for is here.

After watching you make that Beautiful Quick Jelly Roll Quilt, I have made up my mind. I'm staying home today and tomorrow for safety; and, to make baby quilts using your pattern and methods. I have everything I need in my sewing room. I'm not a beginner; and, I have your video to go back to if I need help. Thank you so much. I have been worrying over this problem all this Memorial Day weekend. I wish Brenda (of Conquering Mount Scrap-m) had told me about you earlier. Traffic is heavy and bad because of the Holiday. My car is 24 years old; and, I am almost 75 years old. I was invited to join in on helping make charity baby quilts for a Children's Hospital (Kentucky Project Linus) on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Driving in heavy traffic wears me out. The building that I will have to drive to is a good twenty-five minutes away from my house (in light traffic). Because of the Holiday (plus Public Schools are out and many people are somewhere else on vacations) I could be the only person to show up for this event (besides the Extension Agents). I should be able to make two, or more, finished quilts at home. Then I should be able to drive them over to the Extension Office on Wednesday or Thursday (finished and washed).

@@ISeeStarsQuilting hi Christen, do you have a video with tips on machine quilting when the backing material has embossing built-in? I have a velvety type fabric i’m using on the back of this jelly roll quilt and it’s got suns ☀️ embossed all over it and I am not sure how to quilt this? Also, my jelly roll has dark green, light blue, light gold and white background fabrics so I don’t know what color top thread to use. I really don’t want to have to keep switching out thread for every different color strip.

I’ve heard that’s the case with some of the jelly rolls on there.

I am looking to buy a quilting machine for medium to large projects. What machine do you recommend?
@ISeeStarsQuilting3 жыл бұрын
I think that this depends a lot on your budget. There are amazing machines that costs thousands and thousands of dollars... and there are great machines that are really affordable too. I would go to a sewing machine dealer. You can contact the one that I use if you need someone in the US that you can trust. I always speak with Cathy or Mark at www.sewvaccity.com/ Tell them what you're wanting to do with the machine, give them a rough budget, ask if there are any trade-ins available (used is always a great option!) and see what they say! Yay for a new machine!

I’m a beginner sewing my strips together would you suggest I cut the strips in half then sew because I go off track

There's a few things that could lead to that. Without seeing anything I couldn't tell you what went awry... But I like that you're thinking of an easier solution for yourself! Try it out? 😘😘

What is the little iron that you are using. It seems to do such a good job......or is it the "Flatter" that you use?
@ISeeStarsQuilting2 жыл бұрын
I think it may be a combination of both perhaps? I do love my little iron. It is this one from amazon. amzn.to/3XpBMRi $20 and I've had mine for like 6 years I think 🤩
