This is one of the great controversies that will dog the Sheikh no matter where he goes. Im still not onboard with his "hakuna matata" attitude towards eating food from the kafirs. They have no interest in ensuring their food is appropriate for anyone but themselves. They'll saute thier meats and veggies in pig fat and not think twice about it...just to spite you...not because they really need to. You think they'll go out of your way to tell you about it?

@a.r.r.i.9841 I get my chicken breats from a Turkish butcher regularly, one day the chicken tasted off, so the next time I went to purchase some, I asked to check label and it was Polish, and was different from the halal label that I used to see.

Why do we need halal grocery stores and restaurants if we can buy any meat from Walmart or other grocery stores and simply say "Bismillah" before eating? 4o m

Because the meat have to be slaughtered by people of the scripture. Today its mostly with neeldes or electo shocks etc and thats forbidden and many of the people are Atheists i guess. But this topic is very big so we should inform ourself in sha Allah

This is why scholars thousands of miles away living in Muslim countries should not pass fatwas on behalf of Muslims living in the west. Gulf based scholars have a very primitive understanding of the West, it's values and culture. The majority of ulema in the US agree that the meat available at restaurants and grocery stores are not slaughtered based on the requirements of shari'ah. Their opinion is based on thorough analysis of the industry and consultations with major meat suppliers and slaughterhouses. The US is not a Christian country. It's government is secular, it's people are diverse and atheists/ agnostics are one of the most significant categories of the population based on US census. The name of God is not mentioned at time of slaughter. 20% of cattle die from the stun method before being decapitated. Lastly, beef and chicken burgers are prepared on the same cooktop as pork in almost all restaurants. This is the standard process here in America.

Not true. I know quite a few restaurants that don't do that. Otherwise the chicken would be over cooked and beef under cooked

A Muslim should not try to add hardship to their religion. Of course, there should be a balance in all things, but we are not supposed to endlessly research every little thing and give our self anxiety about everything. Ignorance is specifically allowed, within reason. As an example, if for some reason you are not completely sure how many salat prayed, you are told to assume you have prayed enough, instead of assuming you have to give yourself more hardship. Trying to do more research and soul-searching, and giving yourself anxiety about it would be adding to what we have been taught, and that is innovation, which is not allowed. Do not fall into the Christian thinking that hardship equals righteousness.

U really think it is halal to ear haram meat from maccas/kfc where there is also contamination with bacon.... any one who believes this is delusional and ignorant . Allah would never have sent down halal or haram if this were the case. May Allah guide ur soul. Ameen
