This time I look at Ishida Sui. Absolutely love this man's art. Also I'm getting the hang of making myself of a scheudle and actually making these videos. Twitter: / joshuawrickman Instagram: / namukir

Ever since I saw Ishika Sui’s artwork (which was not too long ago), I immediately fell in love with it. I’ve always tried to take away something from his art and incorporate it into my own art.

Ishida Sui's artstyle inspired me a lot and made me start reading more manga and appreciating the process and difficulties of creating this style. Also his art is simple yet beautiful. The movements and the anatomy is dynamic in poses and movements and his illustrations some have abstract style with great color combination. Honestly i admire his work and is one of my favourites in manga art.

He is one of the few mangakas, I would say designers to experiment with so much halftone and hatching with textures, his art is a patch literally speaking of good textures, in action scenes he sometimes loses his hand on the lines of motion and gets polluted, but generally it's pages with pure energy because his characters vary in visual footprints he goes from semi-realistic character to stylized character in a snap,is an author who started shy and then went crazy in the final art.

He's my 2nd (possibly 1st) favourite artist next to WLOP. He has such a distinctive art-style that is so mesmerising to look at. This is the exact art-style I'm trying to go for, but it's extremely difficult. This man has inspired me so much throughout the last couple of years and I wish I could draw like him. Ever since I watched Tokyo Ghoul (I haven't yet read the manga, but I have it, so I'll read it at some point), I've been so infatuated with his artwork, it truly is amazing.

What I did notice is that from his first chapter of Tokyo ghoul to his recent ones he at first had a very set down strict ink style and I noticed some anatomy errors in the hands(like they were either to small on proportion to the body but maybe this is just me). The more i read the more I noticed this strict ink style turn into this wavy out of control pencil sketchy style I guess all those Anatomy errors I was seeing improved drastically as well. Tbh it felt like a different artist compared to the first chapter ngl(to me at least)

I just wanted more three-dimensionality in his eyes, in RE the eyes seem kind of glued to the face I'd say it got better in Choujin X, but in Tokyo Ghoul 1 "let's put it this way", I think he has more three-dimensional eyes in the RE changed, other than that nothing to complain about.

how do you feel about his art so far in Choujin X? this might be a little controversial, but as much as I ADORE the tokyo ghoul and re: artstyle, I find myself more ensnared by CX's stuff. Of course there were a couple parts in re: I think are unbeatable Overall his art has really influenced me as an artist to loosen up my style and warm up to horror and grittiness.
