I just realize that dividing the crew (some fights, some is benched) in arcs are a common thing, even to this early episodes. In Little Garden, Sanji never fought the bad guys. But in this arc, he is a star.

Do you know the three wise monkeys ("see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil")? Sometimes I think Luffy is all 3 together. Speak no evil: Luffy doesn't lie to people Hear no evil: Luffy doesn't want/need to hear the tragic backstories of his friends/nakamas (where evil people where there), he even wants them in their crew just because he wants them. See no evil: For me it was the hardest to come up with but I think its this: Luffy doesn't see evil in his friends/nakamas, for example when Nami left the crew for Arlong. He trusts them as they trust him. In some pirate crews, someone can betray the others by killing them or using his crew just as tools, like Captain Kuro. Even in later One Piece episodes, Luffy can be seen to have the 3 qualities within himself that I have interpreted as such.

@@infinit4558 It's probably as simple as Luffy not wanting to see his friends be evil or do evil things. What Luffy thought Zoro did at Whiskey peak was an evil thing and that's when he went in hard considering they are actual pirates. I like the points you're making.

I need to explain this XD Zoan Devil Fruits usually allow the user to access 3 forms. Their base form, the transformed form and a middle-ground. In Chopper's case, his Rumble Balls allow him to acess 4 other forms, which are supposed to be "in between" the other ones. At total, there's 7 now.

I find it so funny how Luffy says "your clothes are ugly"; Nami says they are cooler than his and Luffy´s like "Oh yeah? Well then!" and just takes it for given that he was wrong XD he can be easily swayed by his crew if it comes to stuff like that. Also him wearing Namis coat is such a iconic outfit of Luffy. Especially him standing next to the flag. It´s also such a typical Luffy-thing: he has no idea whos flag that is and why it´s there. He only knows it has a meaning and dreams are connected to it, so he will stand up for it without any further information. You could think of Choppers rumble ball like Chojis three pills. It´s basically a powerup. Wapol really belongs to the more annoying enemies. I somehow never could take him and his men seriously either, they all seemed so unorganized and clueless about their own plans.

If I recall correctly, Chopper's last name, Tony Tony, might be a play on words. Could be referencing the word, "tanuki," since Tony in Japanese, "Toni," would sound similar. That and it's a recurring joke that characters in One Piece will mistake Chopper's human-reindeer form, Brain Point, for a tanuki, which is a Japanese racoon-dog. Much like how people thought Chopper's human form, Heavy Point, was a yeti.
