These are some of the best woodworking videos on the internet in every way.

I melted when Shiro was like "i wont walk anymore if we leave Chie behind". Great camera work, music selection, angles selection, footage selection, everything is so mystical. This channel is my main source of inspiration to get better at woodworking.

I wish all furniture was made with this much care and attention to detail. Fantastic! I've learned how the furniture you make in ISHITANI is different from the furniture made in the factory.

Class act Master. You don’t see his face. You don’t hear him talk. His personality and skill are defined in his work. Just do the job. I bow to you Sir. And damn, that press.
@visakanthiruchelvam50286 жыл бұрын
This comment is exactly how i feel. The most perfect word being Master. Just a perfect piece of work. Design A+, construction A+, technique A+, simplicity A+, effect A+, Video A+. Where's the ego? Where's that feeling of needing to lecture someone about HIS way? Completely absent. The work says it all. and your followers are hanging on your every video. To me this video shows what it is to command respect, not demand it. My favourite craftsman for sure. Every piece of furniture i make, i try and channel him.
@PatrickTeglia6 жыл бұрын
@@visakanthiruchelvam5028 How can you even get to be 1% as good as this? Masterful. Some day, after much trying, I may get to be .005% this good.
@volkerpetersen22686 жыл бұрын
I find the craftsmanship, the design, the way tools are used simply flawless. There is so many channels on youtube, and almost evertime you find something that could be done better, faster / slower, more accurate. Not with Ishitani...it is a pleasure watching this master share his art. Thank you.
@sandravukovic29017 жыл бұрын
I am absolutely in love with your precision, patience, details, design and the quality of the wood you use. And your dog.
@wortheffort7 жыл бұрын
You really are at another level from us peasant YT'rs. Knocking together dovetails from below seems like such a logical idea that solves so many problems yet this is the first I'd seen the practice done. Mad respect.
@markspears11677 жыл бұрын
The thing that I appreciate right away is he doesn’t make the video about him making something. It’s all about the furniture piece. Very enjoyable to watch. I really appreciate your designs and talent.
@tjbrison7 жыл бұрын
This isn't furniture making. What you are doing is fine art. People who are lucky enough to buy your furniture, will be handing it down to their grandchildren through the generations. I wish all furniture was made with this much care and attention to detail. Fantastic!
@josevera15357 жыл бұрын
Non-commercial furniture. Each piece is hand made, not factory assembled or crazy stuff.
@hlboerr6 жыл бұрын
yeah if all furniture was made like this only the rich could afford it
@DonnieBrasco-dy9yd5 жыл бұрын
@@hlboerr No, people would just have to save for a quality item like the old days instead of buying a new piece of shit every few years...
@Master_Blackthorne5 жыл бұрын
You're right. It reminds me of mid-century modern furniture except it contains no plywood or particle board and the joints are traditional joinery.
@DavidAndersen845 жыл бұрын
@@hlboerr And your point? That he isn't permitted to make a living? That he should lower his standards and use cheap materials? Your comment is derisive and self indulgent. Do everyone a favor and Save your socialist rants for another page. This man is a master craftsman and should be treated with respect. He represents a kind of spirit of excellence and tradition that makes objects like this not only beautiful but worth more than all the observations of trolls like you.

Almost speechless after watching someone 6k miles away make a stunning shoe cupboard of incredible precision and craftsmanship, shot with world class videography (loved the music, the window shot and those of Shiro looking back and scoping the cat) and a dog with caring eyes of wisdom and stature. That shot looking over the board while marking the dovetails at 2:20, the contrast stain on the feet, he made his own plywood! Oh. My. God. Should wood working bring a tear to your eye? Cos this just did.

Thanks for the beautiful videos. Natsuki has a steady, smooth pace when he is working that I find so relaxing to watch, almost meditative. And Chie's videography is quite artistic and very appealing. Shiro seems to be a very patient and gentle shop foreman.

Typically in a video like this I like to have a voice over explanation of the process. With your videos, however, I want for nothing. These videos are perfect as they are. Your work is beautiful and watching you create is such a relaxing experience that any instruction would detract from the overall experience. Thank you.
