One thing I like about carpentry is the pay off, both monetary and the finished product. Specially from where I come from and I'm sure it's even better in Japan considering their level of carpentry is in it's own tier of expertise compared to others.

Your woodworking mastery is already beyond compare. But now you are also a skilled brass/ metal worker? I’m amazed, again, maestro. Wonderful videos, as usual, and deeply meditative, and thoroughly enjoyable to watch, as I sip my coffee and stare out my window on a Saturday morning, looking at the snowfall from the day before. Greetings from the USA.

I am a biologist/botanist and have been studying Ginkgo biloba (as a hobby) in Japan for several decades, and with others have published a book on ginkgo science. Freshly cut ginkgo wood has a beautiful yellow as seen in the video, but unfortunately that fades rapidly as the surface oxidises. I have never seen such a large piece of ginkgo wood, quite amazing. Would love a piece of furniture made of ginkgo ! Otherwise, I am also a woodworking hobbyist (日曜大工) and greatly admire the skill and techniques shown here.
