You and Chie are hands down the best that's happened to woodworking on youtube lately. Just you working on your shop making incredibly beautiful pieces over some nice music and everything being exceptionally filmed. Seriously, hats off to both of you.

Usually, stowable furniture has a cheap, Ikea-like look. This totally blow that notion out of the water. Beautiful!

What really gets me are the joints that you rarely see on commercial furnitures. Usually the pieces are jointed together just with screws and bolts. This is how it is supposed to be done.

Mate, all your work is just stupendous! What surprises me most is you don't drive even a single metal nail or screw into wooden pieces. This very approach brings kind of divinity in the finished product. All the best and may God bless you.

Love the sliding dovetail breadboard ends. I have only used the European traditional style and I think this would be far more durable. But, my tables have much thinner tops so I don't think this would scale down for the tables I have made up until now. Love to see your videos. Thank you so much for making them.

i'm a bit new to woodworking and i love his works but , isn't that a bad idea to glue them up to the top end grain? (due to wood movement)
@KevBossche

Matt Yach I think he only glued the end piece, and not the panel? This is fixated by its thightness?

oh u're right, thanks!
@tooljunkie555
@tooljunkie555 7 жыл бұрын
Matt Yach all depends on where he puts the glue. if it was me id use very little on the ends cuz its a very tight nit joint as u seen him hammering it on.. I have never done a sliding dovetail breadboard end so I really don't know but traditional breadboard ends you only put glue on the middle tenens to allow wood movement but if I ever give it a try I'll let you know how it goes :-)
