Although I was used to George Blaha and other Piston announcers, it is a pleasure to hear that Ron Rothstein called this game favorably to the Pistons and Mr. Laimbeer on National TV. There is no doubt in my mind that Bill Laimbeer is a Hall of Famer.

Both Isiah and Magic were very tought to be beaten. Both controled the pace, rhythm and style of playing of the team and are impredictable: when you think they'll pass, they'll score when you think they'll score they'll make the perfect assist.

Astounding to hear an announcer on NBC complimenting the effectiveness of Billy Laimbeer, on the pick-and-pop. Oh yeah, that’s Ron Rothstein! ;-)

Ok, for those new fans the announcer doing the "actual" play by play is legendary sports broadcaster Don Criqui.

Look at how hard Detroit played in this series/game; look at how hard Detroit played vs. Boston; and for some reason they didn't even choose to compete vs. Chicago: Thomas only took 9 shots in game 1 and 9 shots in game 2 vs. Chicago in the ECF....So Detroit really helped Chicago win that ECF.

Watched it at the time, but don't remember now. But I wonder if Isiah's wrist got hurt more or was bothering him more by the time they got to the ECF.

@@TravisMay108 Well in game 3 I think Thomas took 22 shots so where was that same aggression in games 1 and 2? Now the funny thing is, as a point guard, you know you cannot be the guy taking the most shots...that's what he did in game 3 which is why they lost. The alarming thing is, James Edwards only playing 9 minutes in game 2 and in game 3 -- think about that? You are talking about a guy who is a consistent low-post player who gets you open shots, tough on the boards, and matches up well with Cartwright and excellent help defense and can draw fouls if things are tough -- the man only got 9 minutes in each of games 2 and 3.... So that's Chuck Daly doing his 'part' making sure the Bulls had that advantage which leads to winning -- second shots, no post threat, o double teams makes it easier for Chicago to trap the guards and non-scorers, which is why if you look at games 2 and 3, Chicago was much quicker in the half court defense and didn't really have to do anything. Why? No threat in the post by Edwards, easier to help off the big men because you want guys to take long jumpers and Aguirre is solid in the post but he didn't command the size factor... So it's easy to see how Daly did as much to make sure Chicago won as possible -- that's how you 'fix' games..it's easy to be honest by players/coaches, etc.... All I have to do is make sure you have an advantage in certain places more consistently. See, Isiah Thomas NEVER ran the offense for 3 games; Daly only played Salley 11 minutes in game 2 and Edwards 9 minutes in games 2-3... Thomas took 9 shots in game 1 and 9 shots in game 2 .... So when you do the match-ups and math it's easy: Your best player who is a match-up problem for Paxson/Armstrong is NOT aggressive, so off the dribble Chicago can stay home; then there's no post threat with Edwards; also Thomas is NOT running the offense through the 2nd and 3rd options on every play like Dumars/Johnson were in the Boston series and also when they subbed putting in Johnson with Dumars at the point, Detroit got back in the game ...but they took Edwards out. HAHAHA Even though Aguirre and Johnson had the best production, how is it Laimbeer only took 7 shots in game 1 and 2 shots in game 2? So the leaders, Thomas and Laimbeer aren't shooting the ball in games 1 and 2. HAHAHA! James Edwards isn't getting time in games 2 and 3 neither is Salley in game 2.... So that's a recipe to lose 100%. See, this is why I will constantly state that the Pistons stepped aside and gave Chicago that series on purpose: that Pistons team went out on their own terms and then walked off.
