I have 4b type hair and I’ve done those 2 braided styles without heat the most recent being the jumbo knotless which was done yesterday. You can achieve these styles without heat and your hair will look just the same. Especially Aphogee. I tell people to start off with some ORS or CANTU or AUBREY ORGANICS GPB. Mild Silk or milk proteins. Or even some wheat protein. But everyone wants to run straight to Aphogee..straight up keratin or collagen, strong harsh, heavy protein that will suck all the moisture out and make your hair brittle if you don't know what you are doing. My hair eats protein for breakfast but I have high porosity, ultra-fine hair. Everyone else with low porosity or coarse hair, should use Aphogee with extreme caution..even the Curlific line. My friend has low porosity coarse hair and even Aussie 3 minute reconstructor was too much for her hair. She also tried Nexus Emergencee and that was a nightmare!

I just commented on the other video lol please dear, do the max hydration method. And using heat is alright but you will cause mechanical heat damage to your hair if not used properly and hair not properly prepped. Also putting more heat on your already flat ironed hair is influencing mechanical damage. If you used 400 degrees on your flat iron and then do another pass, you just put 800 degrees on your hair, that much heat and greater will dry your hair. But your hair doesn’t look damaged at all, that elasticity is still there

Also these Tubers that are "gurus" of things like hair(as well as other things) will run into this problem quite a bit for the simple fact that because they use themselves to test everything on soon enough damage will come up. They are their own guinea pig so over time all of the various use of different products and different styles all the time WILL cause some damage. May take months or years, i guess and anyone who follows behind them changing as often as they do will also experience problems. Your channel as a guru cannot be successful if you stay stuck on the same products and styles unfortunately, so to keep up with trends, sponsors, etc. you have to do various things. 24:42 I even think calling the European look "crisp and pristine" is what is we are told. Who is to say that a 4c Afro is not pristine? Pristine just means something that is in its original, unspoiled condition and an Afro is that! It grows out our heads just like that! It's the same when people say that an Afro can't be elegant and the list goes on... All that to say, the hair that naturally grows out of your scalp (healthy and taken care of) is beautiful and is acceptable. The world just needs to get on the same page. How can we encourage that people can have surgery, etc. in order to feel confident and love themselves, but not deal with the root problems of why the world tells people that how they naturally are isn't okay. I realized that during the pandemic and not just added heat. Pre-covid I was outdoors daily for work. For years I always felt like my natural journey wasn't going how I felt it should but never put 2 and 2 together. It wasnt until staying in the house everyday, out of the sun and now working via zoom that my hair has flourished. Heat really is the enemy lol

I mess around and always think everything is ISI’s natural hair because her natural hair is already healthy & voluminousss!💕

the tiny hairs on the top of your head isn't breakage. it's new growth. as your hair sheds, the new growth comes out of your scalp. it is more apparent in natural hair bc its just really textured. it's completely normal to have it mostly on the crown of your head.

OMGGGG THANK YOU FOR CLARIFYING THAT, for months now i’ve been having the idea that i have a lot of breakage or sum cause whenever i part my hair i be seeing these tiny hairs pop up, and i get so confused by them.

Your hair still looks great but you could try olaplex since it’s supposed to repair broken bonds in the hair.

So do I, but that because I protective style. My hair's never been healthier. I think monthly/bi-monthly washes are the way to go.

Is it not “mo-fair” that the use of heat that was not an issue, but rather how possibly not using heat correctly caused the damage. No shade from me. Just saying as it seems as tho ppl run from heat as it it is the culprit rather than the user?

Every 6 weeks My hair gets heat but I'm super cautious and use two heat protectants and I don't care if the hair is weighed down!

Don’t beat yourself up. You are very successful at a young age and don’t feel like you have to be anything other than what you want to be. And if you like your hair straight every now and then roll with the punches and trim when necessary. You are your own worst critic and will be at 1 million followers soon.
@AlexisZLigon-rr5yg3 жыл бұрын
Heyyy sis, I really hate to see you beating yourself up for this! I think maybe your hair is also shedding a little because of stress, and I hope that you know you’re beautiful still and your hair will grow back with proper care!!

One thing that helped my hair is adore jet black hair dye. If you look at the 2 photos of your hair in the healthier state it’s darker. Heat strips hair of many protein one of those being melanin proteins aka color proteins. By adding (key word adding rather then lifting like with bleach/developer) Color proteins back into the hair it leaves the protective coating on it. 😊 much love 💕 💕
@marleyhill343 жыл бұрын
I noticed that it was darker two when Isi's hair was healthier.
