I think the moral of this story is you can do both. You can weaves and wigs and still wear your natural hair. That's the special thing about Black women's hair. It's so diverse

I think the moral of the story is it’s best to wear wigs, less intrusive than a weave and so better for retaining length and taking care of your actual hair.

You're such an inspiration. You don't know how many times I've heard someone say black girls hair doesn't grow and how mad it used to make me. I wanted to break the stereotype for so long and now I don't care because it's just nonsensical. Everyone's hair grows, it's length retention that everyone doesn't keep. You made me realize that so thanks isi I love you so much😙😭💕

Honestly , I'd do my natural hair journey all over again, cos I had to learn to love myself no matter how I look and shove people's opinions out of my mind. It's been awesome 😁

I'm just watching this for the FIRST TIME EVER! And I am literally about to cry because the struggle with type 4 hair is REAL and I have been at the same length as when I started my natural hair journey about 2 years ago. I feel as though a lot of natural-haired KZbinrs sugarcoat the process in which one has to go through to get that desired length, but but you gave the the full journey not leaving out nothing. I am SUPER HAPPY I came across this video when I did. :)

OMG!!!... I had to comment on this one lol... this has to be the BEST natural hair journey I've ever seen. I'm trying this natural hair journey for the 2nd time. I start to feel a little insecure without the sew-ins, etc.. but i'm sick of looking at my damaged hair. I'm good at hair braiding so i installed some faux locs last week. This video has truly inspired me to continue with what I've started. I cannot wait to get my hair as healthy as yours. Thanks for this video!

I also used protein treatments waaaaayyyy too much.. At first it worked and then my hair freaked out and I kid you not, it looked as if my curls fainted. How can hair faint? I can't explain it my friend. But hair freaked out. It acted as if I had processed it and it started breaking off and my curls were still passed out but I guess you live and you learn with natural hair. As a natural for 2 years the journey was hard and still is. I dont fully understand or know how to handle my hair but it's getting easier. I have realized that sew in weaves and wigs grow my hair. while with braids I seem to lose more hair then I grow. So I stop braids all together and damn your girl hair is growing healthy and long. I did trim my hair this weekend and as soon as I take off my wig or weave I do hot oil treatments and give my hair time to air and just be free. My weaves and wigs stay in for about 1 or 2 months and between that time my hands are out my head and my hair gets it down time . I found this works for me but the shrinkage is a killer I'm still working on handling the shrinkage and my hairline but its growing back with the natural oils slowly

Of all the natural hair videos on KZbin I have watched, this on mirrors my journey most. I cut the perm out of my hair back in 2012 and went through several disasters. The natural game was new and I had little guidance. I severely burnt my hair 3 times with the flat irons. I let my sister perm my new again virgins hair. She chose Dark and Lovely. My hair felt like straw afterwards with continuous shedding. After several deep moisturizing treatments I went back to braids and other protective styles. I started again and went through the weavesRus phase and that is where I am now. Thanks for this video. I am now a new subscriber!

Can you do a video on how we can tell if a hair product is working for us or not? Like what are the signs?

I love it! Thank you so much for sharing. I went through a lot of the same things that you went through. I tried the natural hair journey like 5 times. Once was not my choice, my hair fell out after I had my last son 7 years ago (hormones etc. But extreme!) So at that time, for almost 2 years, I wore half wigs and sew ins. Then I finally decided to go and get my hair straighten AND when I did I was AMAZED, my hair went from bald spots and half inch in certain parts of my hair and 2 inches in other parts of my hair to bra strap length in less than 2 years. I was sooo excited and shocked! I did end up getting a relaxer smh and getting about 3 to 4 inches cut off because of the tugging and pulling while doing my own sew ins. But anyway, the main thing is, I am natural again now, (since 2015) and I want my length back in its natural state, (collar bone length now after 3 years)but HEALTHY this time! I am so glad that I stumbled across your channel. 😁 This video gives me hope and motivation to keep going. I was just thinking , 3 weeks ago about getting my hair cut to a short style and relaxed. But I want long, kinky curly hair. Help! Lol #notification team

This was actually so damn inspiring. Gives me some hope. I have started my journey for like the 25th time. Was at arm pit length but I finally got a professional trim so now I back up to in between armpit and collarbone. No more color in my hair. Currently rocking twists until my hair stylist is back from maternity leave so I can trim again. This video really really really got me hyped on how far my hair can go if I try hard enough . Much love

This is just what I needed as I'm just starting my journey and trying out different products, I never relaxed my hair just straightened it so more heat damage than chemical. It was good to have a reminder that it takes time and that you have to figure out what works for your hair rather than taking what you see on the internet for gospel! I'm hesitant to cut my hair as you were but will definitely get rid on these ends and join wig gang! Love your videos and channel all the way from the UK!🇬🇧

I’m a brand new subscriber and I absolutely fell in love with your hair currently and enjoyed learning about your Hair journey! Best youtuber that I’ve found and you are most certainly my #HairGoal girl let me start investing in wigs 🙌🏽!! I think the less manipulation of your hair and like you said taking care of your hair underneath allows for major growth! Sis you did that 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
