You're such an inspiration. You don't know how many times I've heard someone say black girls hair doesn't grow and how mad it used to make me. I wanted to break the stereotype for so long and now I don't care because it's just nonsensical. Everyone's hair grows, it's length retention that everyone doesn't keep. As a natural for 2 years the journey was hard and still is. I dont fully understand or know how to handle my hair but it's getting easier. I have realized that sew in weaves and wigs grow my hair. while with braids I seem to lose more hair then I grow. So I stop braids all together and damn your girl hair is growing healthy and long. I did trim my hair this weekend and as soon as I take off my wig or weave I do hot oil treatments and give my hair time to air and just be free. My weaves and wigs stay in for about 1 or 2 months and between that time my hands are out my head and my hair gets it down time . I found this works for me but the shrinkage is a killer I'm still working on handling the shrinkage and my hairline but its growing back with the natural oils slowly

Of all the natural hair videos on KZbin I have watched, this on mirrors my journey most. I cut the perm out of my hair back in 2012 and went through several disasters. The natural game was new and I had little guidance. I severely burnt my hair 3 times with the flat irons. I let my sister perm my new again virgins hair. She chose Dark and Lovely. My hair felt like straw afterwards with continuous shedding. After several deep moisturizing treatments I went back to braids and other protective styles. I started again and went through the weavesRus phase and that is where I am now. Thanks for this video. I am now a new subscriber!

I love it! Thank you so much for sharing. I went through a lot of the same things that you went through. I tried the natural hair journey like 5 times. Once was not my choice, my hair fell out after I had my last son 7 years ago (hormones etc. But extreme!) So at that time, for almost 2 years, I wore half wigs and sew ins. Then I finally decided to go and get my hair straighten AND when I did I was AMAZED, my hair went from bald spots and half inch in certain parts of my hair and 2 inches in other parts of my hair to bra strap length in less than 2 years. I was sooo excited and shocked! I did end up getting a relaxer smh and getting about 3 to 4 inches cut off because of the tugging and pulling while doing my own sew ins. But anyway, the main thing is, I am natural again now, (since 2015) and I want my length back in its natural state, (collar bone length now after 3 years)but HEALTHY this time! I am so glad that I stumbled across your channel. 😁 This video gives me hope and motivation to keep going. I was just thinking , 3 weeks ago about getting my hair cut to a short style and relaxed. But I want long, kinky curly hair. Help! Lol #notification team

I’m a brand new subscriber and I absolutely fell in love with your hair currently and enjoyed learning about your Hair journey! Best youtuber that I’ve found and you are most certainly my #HairGoal girl let me start investing in wigs 🙌🏽!! I think the less manipulation of your hair and like you said taking care of your hair underneath allows for major growth! Sis you did that 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
