For nearly four years, Hussein Moanes, a former spokesman for Iraq's Hezbollah Brigrades, was imprisoned by U.S. forces for having engaged in armed resistance to the U.S. occupation of Iraq. After his liberation, he co-founded and became leader of a new political party, Huquq (the Rights Movement). Moanes is now a member of Iraq’s Parliament, along with five other deputies from Huquq. Moanes and his party continue to resist the U.S. occupation of his country, but by political means. For this, the U.S. government recently sanctioned Moanes. On April 1, 2024, in Baghdad’s “green zone”, Dimitri Lascaris spoke with Moanes about the U.S. government's relentless efforts to perpetuate its control of Iraq’s resources, economy and government.

42:19 wrong translation here Dimitri, i don't think the translator meant it , the leader of the group meant "an internal issue that concerns Iraqis " but the translator said "an internal issue for Palestinians " , which gives the impression that Iraqis are not concerned which is not what he said .

If we think for even one minute, that our hard earned tax dollars were spent on promoting Peace and Democracy we are " Dead " wrong. What we are now finding out here in the collective west is that our governments got away with a lot of murder, genocide and destruction by using the label " Terrorist " or if you are in a "free" and "democratic" country like I am here in Canada. they like " Far right Extremist " This one works better in fueling the propaganda machine. gets better mileage. You are really surprising me Dimitri. You could have just stopped at the Palestine issue but you have really tackled the whole of the Middle East impacted by the criminal states occupation and wars. There are not many countries with the depth of history as Iraq and it's a terrible shame what happened there but it's good to see they are beginning to really fight back and get the criminal state out of their country. You should also arrange to visit Afghanistan, they have just come out nearly 40 years of war with the criminal state and the Soviet Union. The Afghans are not what the media portray them as, they would be happy to host you in their country. Thanks Dimitri

The translator mistranslated a statement at the end. The politician said: "we consider the gaza issue to be an internal issue for us and not an external issue", but the translator said "is an internal issue to palestenian and not to Iraqis". But the politician was saying the palestenian is an internal issue to iraqis

It was not a wrong translation... The idea is centered around a very important topic that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and other parties previously focused on, and they confirmed that the issue of planning, implementation, and decision to fight the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle was in the hands of the people of Gaza and the resistance in Gaza, and all events are decided by the resistance. In Gaza, this is what the representative meant when he said (the issue of Gaza is an internal matter), and the sentences that followed made it very clear the commitment to support Palestine and Gaza in particular.

@@HusseinBarood yes exactly! the sentence that follows is very clear that the aim is to support gaza which is why he meant that the gaza issue is something that he takes very personal as if it's an internal matter and not a foreign matter. The translator went ahead and said that it's a palestenian issue and not an Iraqi issue but the guy never said that.
