Kinesthesia is wild. As fighters we gather a lot of information of this stuff. Sometimes you get in their head but what’s more important is learning in the moment. That way you can stack efforts accordingly to exceed in competition. I know wrestlers like to feel the leg “lemme feel the leg” boxers skip all the time to check speed. If you’re an mma fighter you have all this built in understanding of how things should be, and when you feel it, articulating is hard cause you have to literally feel the other dudes brain sending connections to his arm or feet or his body and register in your head “he’s not using his legs to grapple or he’s using is arms to grapple he’s using power he shouldn’t I will catch him in striking.”

I think what Islam was saying is Volk is using too much strength but wasn’t using it right & Islam could use it against Volk. I remember in the clinch telling my self Volk is strong enough to keep Islam there but isn’t smart enough to get him down & maybe when he tries, Islam will get him down or reverse the position. I remember before the fight commenting that Islam could improve by using that rear leg Teep or kick to the body & head since Volk is vulnerable there, has been exposed by Islam, Yair & Max before but no one fully capsulised on it until Islam did now. Another thing I’ve realised in Volk vs Islam 1 & Max vs Volks 2, Volk did have a tendency to duck or lean to his inside when close or in the clinch. Islam did hit him with a knee & Max constantly used uppercuts, while Islam used knees but Islam didn’t do it enough & Max wasn’t powerful enough to completely stop Max. Islam in their second fight did use a lot more knees on the clinch the second time around. I think Islam getting a 24h rehydration period does help that he’s much stronger than their first encounter & did look like they studied Volk a ton.
