They need to make the BMF as their official super fight belt and announce it as such. Make it so the fight doesn't directly effect rankings but puts a standard monetary value that the winnings don't ever go beneath but will possibly increase. Making sure that the pay out attracts fighters and consumer attention. Inviting all fighters from all weight classes to participate at any weight they desire. Catch weight preferred. Then, people don't worry about what it does to the division, fighters win more money than normal, and their is a marketing element built in. THE END. :)

The BMF belt is a belt for those who hasn’t earned a real belt, but simply for those who wins a hyped up and/or exciting fight. I would get if they made a BMF title where only champions fight eachother to decide who that is, then it would make sense.. But i don’t think it matters at all as is. It’s just a way to make a fight seem more interesting for the dummies, putting a fake belt on the line. Which is kind of the same as the interim belt in a way, but the interim belt has a purpose - it foreshadows who the next (usually well deserved) title contender is, as we wait for the real champion to compete. What is the purpose of the BMF belt?

Got to agree with Islam on this. The BMF title truly has no value. It's not like the Intercontinental/US championship in WWE where the belt has a lineage and it is contested among B-tiers (or as Islam called them - bums), who won't get a main event spot anytime soon. Yet, in pro-wrestling if you win all the belts that the promotion has, you will earn the 'Grand Slam' title. This is not the case here - if Islam, as the undisputed champ, would win the BMF title, there is absolutely no credits to it. He won't become the first 'Grand Smesh' guy or something for collecting all the UFC belts.

I love the analogy, But Americans don't understand our culture at all. I love it. Talk that trash Islam and then put your belt up against the BMF. Winner takes all. Dana you should do this. It would be huge, but it would also be the death of the BMF belt unless you stipulate a person can only keep it so long and since it's mysterious it goes back into the ether to be awarded to two other perennial stars that can't quite win the real championship.
