I'm so happy islam won, the pressure on him must have been so much greater than when khabib fought for the title, especially since he has a lost, that lost must have been absolutely devastating for him. And yet, islam rose to the occasion in amazing fashion with the highest possible pressure on him, against the most dangerous dude in his division. Incredible, so happy for islam.

If you really look at Khabib and Islam, their style in general is the same but in detail they are quite different. Islam seem more fluid on the ground. Khabib is tough and rough. Islam doesn’t need to use his striking for a takedown whereas Khabib used it

I like Islam Judo throws/sweeps, Khabib was awesome at Judo too but imo Islam is slightly better (maybe because I saw him using it more often). Khabib was a destroyer, total domination; while Islam is very technical, a treat to watch if you understand the skills. Both Khabib/Islam fight IQ is insane. Only way to beat Islam is to catch him with something, punch/kick/knee. Volk is a great champion, but I think he is lying to himself if he is thinking that Islam will not be able to hold him down.

Look at it this way. Islam has his own legacy, but because their style and skills are so similar, it answers our question about Khabib vs Oliveira, which really confirms he is the greatest 155er of all time. But Islam still gets 100% credit for his wins, and his resume will speak for itself, and will likely be better than Khabibs. I believe Khabib is still better IMO lol, but the way I look at it is that Khabib is like MJ, and Islam is like Kobe if we are comparing skills and styles. They both will be HOFers with their own jackets, and own resumes/records
