Haha, sorry. The pier we filmed this at is in Waimea, on the west side of Kauai. It's hard to see, but if you look closely, you can catch the island of Niihau on the horizon ... which is kind of why we chose that spot!

I always wonder how people hold their ukulele while standing... (or sitting if you're not putting it on your lap). My left hand's fingers are constantly sore and awkward cause it took a lot of strength to support the uke, and because of that I can't switch chords fast enough. Any solution without using a back strap?

I know this may sound stupid but, I'm kind of a big guy, not fat, just big hands and body. I need a tutorial on techniques to hold the ukelele. i fint it especially hard on some note switching not to let it fall a bit cause of my thumb position and the way it rests on my thigns. if there is a tutorial on this and i can't find it, please someone send it to me. thanks a lot.

Watched the vid a couple times and got the swing down. It's a bit weird to explain. But if u wanna know I'd say work for it rather than me giving t away! The fact that you try to get it down yourself means you're putting in practice. So....in the words of a beginner, who has just bought his first ukulele. Practice as much as possible! I been practicing for 2 days now. And I've got the c, c7, Am7, G, Em and D down fairly good just t watching people playing. I've also looked up a few tutorials. O

If you can't quite get the Am7 he's playing you can also play Am7 by playing ALL four strings open or you can just play Am.

but how do you transition so easily from strumming to doing the solo? :o
@fairladyz99579 жыл бұрын
When it transitions from the chords to the solo he simply edits in another video of him doing the solo on top of the one that was playing
@whodaheck9 жыл бұрын
+Maria Maldonado oh so do i just try to start the solo and quickly jump back into chords when I'm done?
@fairladyz99579 жыл бұрын
+Angela Banda you can do that...or it's also fun to play along with a friend and one continues strumming the rhythm while the other plays the solo
@SomeOne-jt1yk12 жыл бұрын
i think i found the strum but i cnt explain it :\ i think the way i play it that sounds similar to this is: down chuck(switch) up down chuck(switch) down down chuck(switch) up down chuck. Thumbs up if it works or sounds right c:
@colepeltier847210 жыл бұрын
I wish you could do a tutorial teaching how to strum like that. I just don't understand
@aelaren317710 жыл бұрын
There may be another name for it, but I've always known it as a "chuck". You can find other videos to help you, but basically you run your fingernails along the strings. It's been awhile since I have played though so there is probably a better explanation out there. Just a little warning that you will hit your fingers on the neck of the ukulele, or get your finger caught on the string while learning it, so just be weary of that! From my experience it was relatively easy to learn and only took me a few days before I stopped hitting my fingers. Best of luck!
