Island Packet 32 Sailboat tour

1993 Island Packet 32 for sale - Lelystad, Netherlands.
We zijn op zoek naar een geschikte zeilboot voor ons. Steeds wanneer we in de gelegenheid zijn, gaan we naar een marina of verkoophaven om een aantal zeiljachten te bekijken. Ondanks dat we de eerste jaren waarschijnlijk nog niet op het water te vinden zijn, zoeken we een zeiljacht dat geschikt is voor reizen van enkele maanden achter elkaar over de noordzee, bijv. richting België, Frankrijk, maar vooral Engeland.
We zijn er nog niet achter of het bijv. een jacht moet zijn zoals een Contest, of bijv. een s-spant langkieler. Omdat we geen oceaanreizen zullen gaan maken, maar juist steeds van haven naar haven in de buurt (coast-hopping), vraag ik me af of een langkieler een goede keus is i.v.m. het manouvreren in havens e.d. Het schijnt dat een s-spant type voor de zeegang juist wel weer goed is.
Dus, we bekijken steeds enkele zeiljachten, om zo een indruk op te doen van het interieur, de zeileigenschappen, de ruimte binnen, de tuigage, enz.
We zetten onze bevindingen op KZbin, dan kunnen andere mensen meekijken en reageren.
Vroeg of laat komt u ons tegen op zee.
We are looking for a suitable boat for us. Whenever we have the opportunity, we go to a marina or port sales to have a look at a number of sailing yachts. Even though we are probably not on the water the first years , we are looking after a yacht that is suitable for trips of several months on the North Sea, eg towards Belgium, France, but especially England. We have not figured out whether such a yacht should be like a Contest, or even an s-shaped long keel. Because we are not going to make ocean voyages, but always from port to port nearby (coast-hopping), I wonder whether a long keel is a good choice because of maneuverability in ports etc. It seems that an s-shaped type for the sea-going is just right. So, we still see some yachts to have an impression of the interior, the sailing characteristics, the space inside, the rigging, etc. We put our findings on KZbin, then other people can watch and respond. Sooner or later you will find us at sea.

Yes it is, but i like the longer ones, like 38 to 42 feet.

It's teak...it can be left to grey with no problems...Many people choose to do this because it doesn't look bad and much less work....Of course, If you want to sand it down and give it 10 or 20 coats of varnish you are more then welcome to.
