Tokashki? My favorite
@death2putin7183 жыл бұрын
What you fail to mention is that water access is severely restricted on the island’s supervised beaches. You’ll be able to swim on only 100m of the beach and if you step into the water outside of this area the lifeguards yell at you. I was there for Golden Week 2021. A very beautiful island for beach views, but very disappointing for public snorkeling, especially on the other public beach which is across from the uninhabited island you visited. If you want to snorkel you need a private tour.
@markmoreno72952 жыл бұрын
This must be a recent change because before I saw no such restriction. However, I could tell that people were not being cautious, and that such restrictions might eventually come. They need to protect the environment from damage otherwise the water would not be as clear as it is. I also visited Tokashiki, Iriomote (which already had restrictions), Ishigaki, Taketomi-Jima, and a few other islands. My wife was born in Shuri and has many relatives, so I am obliged to go with her. Otherwise I am not a traveler.

During my first trip in Japan I had from the beginning of August to mid August 2019, I couldn't go to Okinawa (Miyakojima) because of the typhoon that occurred. So I decided that next time I'll come to Japan will be in september, because it seems there is more chance that there are no typhoons, is it correct? Otherwise, could you suggest me the right time to come to Okinawa? Thanks for the awesome video!
@vlo48293 жыл бұрын
Late August through September is typically the peak of typhoon season.

Thank you for this nice video. We have a questions: we will be on okinawa for 14 days in november this year. we can't decide if we want to see naha and zamami and aka or go to miyako. what would you recommend? We definitely want to do a lot of diving. thank you for your answer kind regards, FloCo
@japanguide Жыл бұрын
Wow, 14 days in Okinawa, that is very nice! The number one destination we recommend in Okinawa are the Yaeyama Islands: www.japan-guide.com/e/e7200.html Between the destinations you are hesitating with, we would recommend Naha/Zamami/Aka. If you need more information to help make your choice, feel free to check our Okinawa page here: www.japan-guide.com/list/e1247.html Hope this helps and we wish you a great trip!

@@japanguide Thank you for your answer. Why do you recommend Yaeyama Island? We heard about the dschungle of Iriomote - that sounds great. But is it even possible to dive there? We are not sure about Zamami because it looks like if it is very popular und could be crowded. What do you think? We normaly looking for smal an local accomodation and not so crowded places. Kind Regards, Corina and Florian
@japanguide Жыл бұрын
Yaeyama Islands (which includes Iriomote Island) offer great activities on land and at sea, and thanks to their remote location are not as crowded as Okinawa's main island. Here are a list of activities you can do on Iriomote: www.japan-guide.com/e/e7225.html Ishigaki which is also part of the Yaeyama Islands also offers beautiful beaches with good snorkeling opportunities: www.japan-guide.com/e/e7201.html As for Zamami (which is part of the Kerama Islands), it is popular but will probably not be crowded in November. If you are looking to enjoy a local relaxing slow life type of holiday in beautiful nature and beaches, then we highly recommend it. More information on Zamami: www.japan-guide.com/e/e7193.html If your budget allows for it, you could do both the Yaeyama Islands AND the Kerama Islands during your 14-day trip. And if you have more detailed questions for your future trip, don't hesitate to use our question forum here: www.japan-guide.com/forum/quedisplay.html Hope this helps, have a great trip!
