Beautiful video ! I would love to visit Okinawa. My mother was born there in 1935 and came to live in the United States around 1960. She never had the chance to return. I would like to take an extended trip to Okinawa in her memory one day. Thank you so much.

Spent 18 awesome months there, stationed at Kadena. Didn't get a scuba license but did some snorkeling. It's another world...there's more variety of sea life in the waters around Okinawa than anywhere else on earth. It's breathtaking. Many great memories traveling all over the island with friends.

Thanks! Another great video with comprehensive information! And in our opinion your comments at the end of it where extremely good and in total agreement with other KZbinrs we watch! The one thing that makes your video especially good is that a viewer can get all the helpful information in one video, rather than having to watch many videos. It might be better if you could experiment with the recording of sound on-site or balance the sound more when editing. We not visiting Okinawa soon we will certainly look to your video as a resource when the time comes. Please continue your good work!

can you share a little bit how much should we budget for tolls and car park if we want to self drive here?
@tokyokenchanАй бұрын
For the express way, the longest route would be 1040 yen one way. Most of the parking spaces are free in Okinawa, but you might need to pay if you keep your rental car in Naha city. If you stay at resort hotels by the beach, it can be 500-2000 yen resort fee a day including parking.

Seeing this video, I'm going to visit Okinawa in June 2024. Warm? Will it be enough to cover the whole place for a month? I plan on renting a car like you to drive about.

You might need to take a bus from the bus terminal in Naha or airport. www.kotsu-okinawa.org/en/map/area-honto-touristic.pdf

If you had to choose between visiting Okinawa or Kyoto/Osaka, (have not been to any of these places) Which place / places would you have picked?

Kyoto. Because no where is like Kyoto. As I'm in Tokyo, I can skip Osaka probably. But both Kyoto and Okinawa are special. :)

Of course there are too many places to cover everything in one video. I myself have never been to Miyakojima. I like Ishigaki. Not far is Iriomotejima and Taketomijima.

Thx for sharing. Just want to share my experience when vacationing in Hawaii. The Japanese in Hawaii don't like connections with Japan. They call themselves Local Japanese. I believe it will take quite sometime to forget history.
