yellow one we call in Malaysia "Nyior gading" = coconut tusk(like elephant tusk) - suppose to be the best from the sweetness of the water.

Its so annoying that day 5 footage got corrupted. However, I am curious about those fish that were in the water when you first got in (around 10:05). They looked a lot like the 'old wife' that we get in Aus that you covered in your undesirables series, except that look a lot less spikey. Do you know if they're the same fish but different type, or is it a whole new species? Also, those crays looked beautiful but that storm looked horrendous, I cant fathom how you even managed to sleep at all! Thanks for the shout out btw, I love your videos, you have created an amazing little community, keep doing what you're doing, mate.

Me too still hoping to recover it! They are actually juvenile Batfish which is a whole other species. Haha the sleep was not my best i must admit. No worries you are a legend for always commenting and I enjoy your input 🤙🏼

As for the lobster, if it's legal, you confirm size, and no eggs, wth not?! And wow, Mon's art is amazing. Perfect fit for my 12 year old daughter's beach themed room.

Love the videos btw but i have a question are you allowed to visit all the islands and beaches in fiji?
@WetMammal
@WetMammal Жыл бұрын
Thanks man glad you enjoy, No some islands do not allow visitors usually due to being private or having endangered animals such as the Fijian Iguana 🦎 You will need permission from whoever owns the island before you just rock up there else you could get fined.

Two different aspects Legal vs Moral fishing of Lobsters. I have never speared a lobster and never will, even if it is legal in some countries. Spearing is certainly less sporting imo however one thing which can balance the take on this, is catch limits for spearing vs hand caught. I believe hand catch of lobsters should allow a higher number per day because you can always let it go if it just goes a little bit undersized carries hidden eggs, you can't do that if you speared it.

Yeah its a bit different in an actual survival situation though man, im not spearfishing for sport i actually hate the thought of killing something for sport. Im hunting/spearfishing for food to provide for me and my family. I do not support commercial fishing in any shape or form so any spearfishing you watch me undertake is because its my only method of being able to harvest seafood something i believe incredibly important to the balanced diet i lead. You can see if its berried in most situations and if not i wouldn’t take the shot. I must say i did still feel bad about shooting them but Im glad i did.
