Get a better logo idiot for these watches I can make an essay why it's bad from a geometry perspective, just put LIW on the front! It'd also harken back to your brand name long Island watches?..... Also LIW would work too its been done before, heard of LWC before?.... AND stop copy pasting the same dials on all your watches, it's more and more like a mcdonalds meal selection, I thought you were just trying to 'save the SKX' not recreate every model? Why not try designing new looks for your recreations then? That aren't even discontinued models

Awesome review as always. Love the Islander brand for its value, but disappointed about how many Seiko clones he’s making. At least this Monster is a colour way Seiko would never have done. Your black Monster is actually a 4th Gen monster. The 3rd Gens were JDM only releases using the Gen 1-2 cases but with the 6R15 movement and a cyclops on the crystal. Keep up the awesome videos. Most enjoyable watch channel out there.

Nice review. Clearly well made watch. I understand why homages exist and I'm ok with them in general. However there has been an explosion of homages the last few years, and you could argue they are providing well made (sometimes better made) cheaper alternatives to the original. Or you could argue they just aren't the original, and at worst blatent copies. Whichever side your sausage falls on, as long as you enjoy the watch, that's all that matters

Ok so in that group of Indian women, one was being super flirty, but any attempts to escalate by myself was met by a bit of scorn by the larger group itself. If I only cared enough to isolate the flirty one by herself somehow maybe magic could've happened. It just wasn't in the cards last night. Onto the watch. Yes the color, indices, and overall aesthetic are different, but they feel familiar if that makes sense. On the wrist it looks great, not too big or small. I dig the shiny also, it just pops. The bezel I actually really dig as well. This whole thing feels like a padi-mas with a bit more personality. It's a nice watch to have in your collection to go with all the purple things.

As for the homage dilemma, I don't like them if you can get the original quite easily, but try to get e.g. an orange 2nd gen monster these days, it's impossible.

Islanders, for the most part, are effectively better than their Seiko counterparts. For that, they can sit around in my minimalist collection without any "OCD" compelling me towards the original.
