Correct, you got it right. Most of the gringos still have that “WE OWN YOU” mentality form their slavery past, and immediately say “it’s beautiful here” “Ah we own you” It’s a territory, not a state. I was just watching The Toy movie with Richard Pryor. Rich father tells gringo kid, you can get ANYTHING from the Toy store, late night. Kid goes in with a bunch a body guards, sees clowned up Pryor, kid says, “I want that man, the black man” as his toy. Would you believe they talk him into getting boxed up on a wooded box, WITH POP CORN safety pads, and shipped to kid’s home??? Unfortunately, Americans that find Puerto Rico beautiful have that mentality towards us Puertorricans , and even worse, there are Puerto Ricans that WOULD sell themselves as toys to the gringos. Which is why Puerto Rico will never be truly American. No matter what political status.

I don’t dislike Americans. Some are nice people. Our Puerto Rican standard isn’t the same as a main stream American of the USA, and our relationship can be better at a distance from them. I wouldn’t want all this mixing of cultures, language change going on in Puerto Rico as it happened in Hawaii.

Last time I checked Puerto Rico was 98.7% non anglo Latinos/Hispanic, and that stat will not go down anytime soon if ever, because Puerto Rico is not one of the 50 states in the USA

I’m gonna go ahead and state a few things regarding Puerto Rico… As far as the island nation… There’s always somebody up in the hills with eyes… Which is a matter of what country it is that has those eyes… But that’s sad… The corruption in Puerto Rico is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be in the United States… And most of its influenced by Canadian Mexicans, and some European countries… It has nothing to do with Puerto Rico itself. There’s a lot of beautiful areas you can see there’s appreciation for the weather and some of the really nice beaches.

English Absolutely is the official language widely spoken everywhere by everyone in the United States. It would be a misnomer to tell a foreign visitor that it is not the official language. All primary signage is in English, all stores shops are in English. We may cater to other languages as a secondary language but the absolute primary and universal widely spoken language is English in the United States by a long shot and it’s not even a close second. Telling foreign visitors anything other than that would be misguided and inaccurate.
