Made this tonight. I used half tomato sauce, half diced tomatoes in green chiles. Skipped creole and pepper flakes. Used dark balsamic instead of white (what I had). This came out beautifully. And that was even with using 1lbs instead of half; although my meat was 75/25 so it was more like 3/4 pound. Very tasty. Will be making again. Im a dad who cooks every night. This will be added to my recipe list!

Well, I am here to tell you I absolutely love this recipe, and tonight I am making it for the second time. My husband went nuts over it too. I didn’t add rice, but replaced it with chopped mushrooms. I've always asked family for the stuffing mixture and until today, I hadn't found one that let me really jazz it up. I'm definitely subscribing. This is yummy, quick, inexpensive and most ingredients are staple items I keep. One suggestion if you dont have tomato sauce or tend to waste the cans of paste like me, buy tomato paste in a tube and just mix it with equal parts water to make your sauce.

These look so wonderful😊. If I may add, forgive me, but you may want to blanch the peppers in that dish, either boil for five minutes or you could add 2 tablespoons water to the dish cover with plastic wrap and cook in the microwave for three minutes. I think you would enjoy the different flavor of the peppers. It gives the peppers that “je ne sais quoi.” I was hoping you would’ve added a green one🤗Other than that, wonderfully done! 🩷 You rock!

I haven't cooked it since around 35 years ago as I learned to cook from my husband and his family in Greece! I like them so much that now that I am by myself now, I think to cook a big dish and save it in individual portions in the freezer. I remember I used to buy them frozen but after they made the recipes to reheat in the microwave, they came different then not anymore. I cooked them fresh adding rice to the ground beef with Greek ingredients. ❤

This is pretty much how I make mine, except I blanch my peppers b4 stuffing them! Bcuz if you cook your ground beef, then stuff them in raw peppers, you'll have a less tender bell peppers! I also make a tomato sauce using a can of whole tomatoes that I crush with my hand... The whole tomatoes break down easier then dice tomatoes when cooking! This allows you to have a savoury sauce along with the peppers 😉
@denisec40434 жыл бұрын
Carebear 67 street You are absolutely correct on blanching the peppers first when the stuffing is already completely cooked. I've seen some people add raw stuffing in raw peppers & cook it all together. I like this recipe but I won't add salt AND "W sauce", too much sodium for me.👌🏽💖

Yes, I hate hard bell peppers .
@lisakaye39194 жыл бұрын
Yes blanching makes them softer but i cant stand the smell of the peppers boiling. I’d rather bake them like she did. I drizzle the inside of the pepper with sauce that helps soften them as well. Everyone has their own little tweaks I guess.

What does blanching a pepper mean?
@denisec40434 жыл бұрын
@@yourmirrorsreflection Blanching any vegetable is to submerge it into boiling water, immediately lowering to a simmer. Depending on the vegetable, this may last for about a minute or two. The key is do not fully cook it, just soften a bit. Google may explain it better.👌🏽💖
